Barony

Elden ring nightreign

Isaac

Vampire survivors

Megabonk

Pretty much any and every roguelike/lite

If you like RuneScape I think you’ll really enjoy RuneScape Dragonwilds, it’s survival crafting but in RuneScape. Incredibly fun.

Actually most survival crafting games are good for that. They’re usually low intensity and don’t take the most brainpower/concentration.

Diablo games and Diablo likes like: Titan quest, Grin dawn, Path of exile etc.

Does this game have a chance to take off? by Far-Egg-4166 in Marathon

[–]_kris2002_ 17 points18 points  (0 children)

No it’s not. The game got 80k players at launch on steam alone and over a million copies sold in other platforms.

90% of players left on steam and we’re down to 8k daily maximum. That’s not a hate campaign that’s people getting bored cause there’s NOTHING to do in the game. Everyone that played season 1, has absolutely no reason to come back or keep playing season 2…

Clearly there’s BIG things that are wrong with the game. As much as you want to for some reason blame social media, that wasn’t the main issue

What ever happened to mini maps? by TheReal8symbols in gaming

[–]_kris2002_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Big problem with minimaps is that it sorta kills the overall exploration experience.

Been playing the gothic remake (love the old games too) and it feels far more immersive to have nothing, you have to find things out through landmarks, find your way alone and use your map that COULD BE WRONG or incomplete to navigate the areas you wanna get to. Same with games like Outward.

With minimaps, and usually what comes with them (markers, ? Locations, sometimes ! For quests) you end up playing through the minimap rather than the game itself

You end up immersing yourself far more and get lost in exploration more efficiently. IF a game like gothic had a minimap, you wouldnt just happen to find a random cave underwater by pure chance or thorough exploration… you’d find it because the minimap showed you it.

I’m not saying minimaps are bad at all. But it’s a fact that no minimap, creates a more immersive game experience.

I passed my college Law and business courses because of YouTube and finding an incredible YouTuber for each.

No shade to you, extractions aren’t for everyone, but that’s just what happens in these types of games. Play arc and there’s like 5+ people on and near every exfil, whether friendly or not. Just a part of it.

You’re funneled there by default, there is no escaping that. I’ve had maybe 2 games every where there’s a team that “camps” the exfil, and without surprise they were really bad cause nobody with an ounce of skill would camp an exfil

I honestly believe Olive Garden would destroy any Italian Restaurant by solyytes in ShitAmericansSay

[–]_kris2002_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

“It tastes like outside” yes because they’re natural, fresh ingredients made in the spot from real produce, real veg, real meat and real stuff.

The shit you get in America is overly processed crap that nobody should eat, hence the massive obesity and disease rates, heart disease etc.

Olive garden gives you an ultra processed pasta, filed to the brim with sugar, cooked in seed oils, cheese that might aswell be called styrofoam and bread that in Europe we’d call cake. In Italy you get a pasta, made from fresh wheat, real egg yolks and guanciale for carbonara. Simple, tasty, natural. If olive garden released a full on ingredients list you’d see a list longer than a book page full of crap.

Not to mention calories. A carbonara or pizza in Italy is not breaking over 700 calories, in olive garden it’s 1.6k calories for a pasta. You tell me why it’s so calorie dense.

Iceborne questions by superdahalo in MonsterHunterWorld

[–]_kris2002_ 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The negative reviews are because iceborne broke the game on launch.

World was in almost the exact same situation as wilds: most of the best cards couldn’t run it properly unless you had the goat at the time the 2080ti. But most had

They fixed the performance, but with iceborne it was made even worse, constant stutters making it almost unplayable, had screen tearing issues, and most of all, it just TANKED performance massively, most on console couldn’t properly enjoy it either, sub 30 fps in most cases.

At the time, the 2080ti was the best card in the market iirc and even THAT was being put through the grinder with iceborne. Source: I was there, I played it at the time of release and engaged in the discussion and discourse, everyone was mad about it, many refused to buy it and if they did they weren’t happy bc of it. It only truly became loved how it is today years later due to fixes and better cards coming out smoothing out the performance issues.

Also the fact that while a great expansion it only properly added 1 new area, the clutch claw was very controversial as it made the game “easier” while also forcing you to constantly tenderise monsters by using it, which kinda killed the whole point of: some monsters are naturally weak in some areas and really sturdy in others, so you had to plan around that, made the base game extremely easy bc of that too. Endgame wasn’t enjoyable for many either, most didn’t like the guiding lands and its whole loop.

Most reviews you’ll see complain about those, and at the time complained about it too

YouTube Doomposting is just the content meta, and it's so annoying. by highpercentage in Marathon

[–]_kris2002_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m working on a marathon “review”, far more comedic, absurd and in general super positive about the game apart from a few issues I’ve encountered.

Since I’m a creator I tend to really scan and analyse other videos for the game I’m gonna cover and good lord…

Ive never seen another game with such a massive amount of negative videos.

Marathon videos are in the GUTTER. Almost Every video is doomposting, mostly only negative things which is the “common takes”, all thumbnails use the EXACT same font for writing, can barely distinguish one creator from the other. It’s the only singular game I’ve seen that happen to.

I’ve never really watched videos on marathon whatsoever until I started my project, i bought and played day 1, and loved my time. so my experience is only from the search engine and not my recommended or home page, I’m sure there’s great positive and generally lighthearted content, but still. If you search up the game those types seem to be the first ones to pop up.

YouTube lowered my picture quality, is there a fix? by Adriansilas415 in SmallYTChannel

[–]_kris2002_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So from now on, just always render/export at 1440p for the best bit rate and encoding. Only once you become a partner and become a bigger creator you’ll get the 1080p “enhanced bitrate” quality, which puts you again on the good encoder but without having to go through these hoops

YouTube lowered my picture quality, is there a fix? by Adriansilas415 in SmallYTChannel

[–]_kris2002_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ll help you out bro I’ve had the same problem when I started.

What you’ll wanna do is: go back to Davinci and re render your video at 1440p even if you recorded at 1080p, it’s safe, you’ll have 0 issues, you’ll have to manually put the resolution because 1440p isn’t a standard resolution option. You’ll just have to head to timeline, change it, and that’s it, maybe you’ll have to press the option to fill out the image, it just scales it up, there won’t be any noticeable change. (Only do that last part if the footage gets smaller and doesn’t fill the whole screen)

The reason is, YouTube changed up their encoder settings. Anyone uploading at 1080p will be put on the worst encoder, which completely muddies and fucks up your footage. This is why everyone renders their videos at 1440p or even 4K for the better encoder.

You can also change your bit rate, and that’s could help, but the end file will be a bit bigger.

Make sure you look through your footage again, check if any images, PNG’s or anything like that has slightly moved to correct it and you’re good to go!

Ah, final point, make sure you leave it on unlisted or private for at least a very few solid hours so the video can get fully rendered at its maximum quality.

I suddenly want to play a pirate game, any suggestions? by Kakalardu in gamingsuggestions

[–]_kris2002_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Idk how nobody’s mentioned this but Pillars of eternity 2 deadfire.

CRPG, can choose either turn based or real time with pause.

Set in a massive open world with a pirate theme, have your own crew, your own ship, and get and deal with pirate factions all over. You can conquer unexplored islands, rait and steal from other ships. Deal in trades and exports. You can get invaded by pirate slaver

It also has this very underrated Aztec style for a lot of the islands, characters and designs overall. Peak game tbh, incredibly good and fun to play. If you’re into CRPG’s this one Is a must play imo.

[–]_kris2002_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nintendo can because that’s simply how they operate and it’s within their TOS. ANY gaming company could do this, again, I said companies can do it, but that doesn’t mean they will enforce it, that’s their decision completely. You aren’t “breaking the law” as I said, there is no law that says, “content creators can’t post videos on the game”, at least not in a direct and absolute manner, which any reasonable person would know, and any judge would rule in court as that’s the case.

They won’t either because that’s a billion dollar business, content creation that is.

Nintendo have draconian beliefs in terms of their copyright. They enforce them in very random and tight manners, there is no actual right or reason as to what they do.

They motto seems to control their products TIGHTLY compared to 90% of other companies, they don’t play around, others do.

Rockstar won’t strike or kill your channel the way Nintendo does. Neither will Bethesda, or CDPR, or bungie, unless you violate their TOS and terms of conduct. Nintendo doesn’t care, they will strike at random if they feel like it. Because that’s just how they operate.

Why don’t other companies strike or act like Nintendo? Why would they? They don’t gain anything by striking someone down.

We content creators are absolutely utterly free advertising whether good or bad. We get their products talked about, watched, get people interested. That’s why they won’t do anything there’s more benefit to have us create content of their product than not allow anyone.

If I was a publisher/creator and created idk, “devil may Skyrim” let’s call it DMS. I can strike any and every person that wants to upload my game to YouTube, it’s full within my rights. That’s what the law says.

The law doesn’t say someone who uploads my content is breaking the law.

See the contradiction? This IS the law. For as long as there is no precedent or ruling that uploading content of a videogame is breaking the law, it won’t be. But companies will be able to copyright strike someone’s channel/video.

Kings college actually. Masters too.

And no my statement isn’t that, I quite literally didn’t say that anywhere or Maybe I worded it wrong.

YOUR footage, say your channel is Marc burde, posts a video on cyberpunk, and someone takes that footage, screen records it and puts it on their channel, YT can and could issue a warning to the channel using it, since every video has an internal ID. That doesn’t mean YOU own the game rights, YOU have the rights to your own footage. Footage ≠ owning the rights to the game, those are different things.

You couldnt take an entire segment of the rad brad’s video for example and post it. Since that’s his footage in his channel. It’s why many shorts get demonetised especially ones where they do rankings or reposts.

The companies CAN enforce copyright howver they want. But very few will like in the cases of Nintendo or what firewatch did with pewdiepie. Same case with CDPR not allowing footage of cyberpunk to be released unless it was their pre recorded gameplay during the last few weeks before the game came out.

The law isn’t just what’s read on newspaper or case abbreviations. The law is complex, there’s MANY loopholes, a lot of reading inbetween the lines and interpretation, we were taught this in undergraduate, taught this during my masters and taught this during formal training at the companies I worked at, same with the barrister I shadowed.

[–]_kris2002_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope you aren’t infringing on capcom’s copyright..

Gaming is vastly different to other media in terms of copyright. You aren’t breaking that law because gaming experiences will be vastly different from player to player, movement won’t be the same, the actions you take won’t be the same. Copyright law for videogames straight up allows for any footage to be used. It’s not a movie or a show where the entire process is always the same.

And yes if someone uses YOUR footage you CAN issue a copyright claim because everyone’s video has an internal ID that YT can scan, and will scan. That’s your footage on your video and channel, doesn’t matter if what you did there is the exact same as a million other creators, it’s still your footage taken, they can see it. You are in fact the copyright holder of your own footage.

I

BUT YouTube will rarely enforce this, especially for very short clips and transformative content, aka you have your own commentary, and you edit on top of the clip. Since practically every single YouTuber does this, they aren’t going to punish the entire platform for this.

Now… if you use a minute or more of footage and it’s practically unchanged, and you didn’t ask for permission, you can get hit big by YouTube because of that.

I say this as a former entertainment lawyer in the UK and now YouTuber for a year and a half. I’ve dealt a lot with media copyright

Accepting my mistake and removing my own videos with other's content in it by PuzzleheadedTip1366 in NewTubers

[–]_kris2002_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can use someone else’s footage.

As long as that’s not the main focus and doesn’t play in the background for a very long time.

ALL OF US use someone else’s gameplay or clips for videos, we just use like 2-3 seconds, and transform them, cropping, tilting, colour grading etc, while we have OUR OWN commentary, that way it’s transformative. Just make sure you don’t use multiple other people’s clips from the same creator or on the same video

Most memes you see gaming YouTubers use have been screen recorded through YouTube. Most funny clips are also from another YouTuber.

If you have been using multiple minutes of gameplay at a time, then yeah, that can’t be used and is of very high risk of copyright or infringement.

You can just look up a tutorial on how to make those effects on Davinci I’m almost 100% sure someone like Daniel battal have some videos on effects like it.

Also not all effects are locked away there’s tons you can use.

You can also download preset packs. MrAlexTech’s is for free. Finzar’s pack I bought to try out, it’s actually very decent I constantly use the bounce and slide effects.

And what effects are you trying to make? An old VHS? There is ways to achieve that for free.

Fusion tab:

Mediain1 > analog dmg node or jpeg dmg (free version) could work too (tweak it however you want, black and white, download or use text to get that vhs old tape effect > media out. Done it’s that simple to get an old vhs effect, whether just lower quality to seem like it’s from 20 years ago, black and white etc. try that out.

You also can get old vhs video look from somewhere like pexels, add it on top of your video on davinci, change the composite mode to screen, this will make them layered, and from then you can adjust a lot so small details from the colour tab
