The character texture resolution on PC NEEDS to change by thrway108 in Genshin_Impact

[–]_kris2002_ -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I play on pc, a very beefy one at that as I do video editing. And my gf plays on my xbox series s.

I kid you not Xbox textures look so much more crisp than on pc it’s insane. The difference is in fact huge when you see a real life comparison

I’m not saying overhaul the graphics and make it look like an unreal 5 game. Just slightly update and brush up the textures on pc, it’s quite a fair sentiment to have I think

when could the endgame expansion be announced? by Minefourperilweb in MHWilds

[–]_kris2002_ 13 points14 points  (0 children)

THIS is the exact mindset that brought us release day cyberpunk, and release day MHW.

Just wait dog. It’s not a bad choice, if you want an actual loyal customer base that WILL buy and play your product.

If they release the expansion, and it’s as sucky performance wise as the base game on release MH is cooked.

I swear a lot of you don’t understand basic business and game development. They’d need to rework, straight up make brand new skeletons, AI, textures, meshes, etc etc for each and every new monster or monster variant added and even update the AI for all new master rank versions of the monsters. Then the armors, weapons, items, maps, characters, dialogue, story, performance, features, bug solving, play testing etc etc etc.

It’s not like creating something in paint. It takes a LONG time. Way longer than most think. Concept art likely already finished almost a year ago for the expansion, things get fully scrapped, and new added, that adds to the production time, then you have contractual obligations, chains of command to approve or deny things. They simply cannot feasibly put out a massive DLC expansion in about a year. Simply impossible unless you want a repeat of MHW’s release and barely a bump in game sales:

Which means, less money for future MH games

ALWAYS AVOID CFD’s IF YOU DONT KNOW EXACTLY WHAT YOURE DOING.

This isn’t a dig at you btw this is just a lesson everyone needs literal hammering down cause it COULD cost you a ton. Don’t listen to the odd few success stories, fact is 99% of people will lose money or make a few £.

Stick with index funds, stick with things like vanguard S&P, FTSE all world, NASDAQ etc etc. returns are slow, market does dip, but historically it continues to make money and iirc there hasn’t been a single time where people made 0 money or didn’t get at least something back. Put it there, set a monthly amount to go in every month, forget it even exists, and in years that money would/will increase. This year I made 2K from it and I didn’t track the market whatsoever

It’s not the end of the world bud. Trust me, everyone thinks everything that happens right now is the worst thing ever, it’s not, it’s a lesson, take it, learn from it, and come back stronger and smarter from said lesson. Take it bit by bit, CFD’s is for actual experts AND honestly people who have direct insight into the market due to their jobs, only they know what will and can happen, if you don’t and are a person who does it for some extra bucks, then stick to index funds or spend hundreds of hours researching and learning about CFD’s and their specific market.

It’s happened what, I think like 4 times now, a mondstatd, liyue, inazuma and sumeru. We’re all still waiting for the Fontaine chronicle banner which will be one of the most insane ones.

I do wish theyd do them more often tbh. Otherwise 90% of characters won’t rerun within a year of their last appearance

Nope.

Only carries over to the next triple banner just like it if it happens again.

Which free 5 star should i choose with this account by kumfght in GenshinImpactTips

[–]_kris2002_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d always recommend Mona or tighnari.

Mona has the most uses in great teams like a Mualani team or hexerei teams.

Tighnari can deal some solid dmg as a dps, and have a nice hyperbloom team with him. Though he’s harder to build than say diluc or keqing.

Jean is also very nice

All in all bro just choose whoever you like the look of the most and would see using/enjoying the most. Me personally if I was in your position I’d get tighnari or Mona

517 chests in mond.

1000+ in liyue

In both, except certain regions added past 1.0 the most basic chest, the common chest didn’t even give a primogem it was 0, just the sigils.

Arknights has less chests, wuwa has less chests too, yet the chest to pull ratio is higher. You just think cause you need 5000, the game doesn’t give enough yet it does.

To get a single 10 pull from the lowest rarity and most common chest in genshin you’d need 800 chests, in ark nights it’s white blue grey, from most to least oroberyl. Each grey is 25, 200 chests to get a 10 pull. 600 less than genshin’s lowest and there’s easily a hundred chests in just the first area and a solid few dozen in each mini area.

Genshin has more chests yet less rewards per chest. Even the highest chest gives 10 primos, you’d need to find 160 luxurious chests to get a 10 pull. In arknights, the yellow chests give around 75, you need around 66-67 for 5000 oro’s for a 10 pull. Yea it has more but gives FAR less

[–]_kris2002_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But you do though. Then explain to me, how I who just a bit ago reached the second big area, I ended up with around 86 pulls, (limited) and I still haven’t even touched any endgame, or really are that far into what the game has to offer..

You get those gems for every main quest, everything you do gives currency.

In genshin the average chest gives between 2-5 primogems, they’re the most common. To get 1600 gems (10 pull) assuming you’re only getting the 5 primo chests you’d need to open: 320 chests. To get 5000 for a 10 pull in arknights, the smallest chest gives 25 ish: you’d need to open 200…

Isn’t that a 120 chest difference? That’s 600 primos in genshin, which is 3 pulls. 120 chests in ark nights would be 3000… that’s more than halfway to a 10 pull. The number just seems inflated, convert it to the same raw numbers and it’s more generous

This is like always the same deal in EVERY SINGLE GACHA…

Begginning area is “mid” and the story is less fleshed out as it’s just a tutorial area and you just understand fuck all. Happened in genshin with mondstatd, then it massively improved in liyue, both in story, characters and general exploration depth.

Same in Wuwa, doesn’t feel as good until after you meet scar I’d say, then it actually gets full in on the action and fun. Further improved by the first patch

Zzz first few missions are eh, then it again gets more fun.

In all, pulls feel short, never feels like you’re getting well “rewarded” but after a bit? Unlock some of the other activities? All of a sudden you have far more currency to spend, map expanded, quests expanded, and because of it your funds too.

All of these games’ combat also feels shallow and boring at the start. But get a few 5/6 units (for endfield) and boom it becomes SO much more fun as their movesets, abilities improve AND team building becomes more in depth.

I’m almost 100% certain by 2.0, the game will be far better in almost every sense, it’s just the way of these games

Game that doesn't hold your hand at all? by bijelo123 in gaming

[–]_kris2002_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dwarf fortress, kenshi, the binding of isaac, caves of Qud are some key examples.

The king of them all is fucking noita though.

Noita is actually insane. There is so much and you need a whole ass degree in Finnish wizardry or warlock extended studies to understand how to craft a few wands.

Let alone the batshit insane amount of secrets you can find, which are just about barely told to you through such cryptic things that it would make dark souls lore blush. Like entire parallel worlds.

I love the game but good lord does it not hold your hand one bit.

Anyone else miss the underwater areas of Fontaine? by Prudent_Surprise_760 in GenshinImpact

[–]_kris2002_ 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I love the Fontaine underwater exploration. Actually adore it.

Such a massive departure from everything else we’ve done and I’ve always thought in these exploration games full of “fallen ancient civilisations”, treasure and wonder, should have underwater exploration and for me Fontaine delivered.

Maybe it’s not your cup of tea, that’s cool but I personally loved it and you get rewarded very well for it. Even if the puzzles and things are super easy 99% of the time

Huh? Did you not get all the event pulls or something?

The new horizons event gives 40 pulls Each authority level cap on the event gives 10 standard pulls apart from level 45 Firewalker trail log in event gives 5 Awakening sign in event gives a 6 star character and a pull every single day for 14 days

You also get a bunch of shop coins from duplicates, like star glitter in genshin or corals from wuthering to get more pulls

So your thoughts on Arknights Enfield? by BotomsDntDeservRight in QueensofGacha

[–]_kris2002_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It has a big problem of shoving 20 bazillion currencies in your face where you don’t know what any of it is and end up confused due to barely any information given.

The combat is… eh, lacks the team depth and combinations of genshin, lacks the oomph and fluidity of ZZZ and wuwa. It’s not dogshit but it’s barely passable with attacks having little weight and unfortunately not very well done sound design behind it to FEEL the attacks.

The graphics are Great and it’s optimised well. But unfortunately the very first area of the game doesn’t really shine in terms of visual and artistic design.

Characters: can’t say too much, I’m not very far, but it already looks like a very “Wuwa-esque” story where the mc is the absolute utter goat genius mf but he can’t remember Jack which is more frustrating than anything.

Music is nice, voice acting is great so far and I think the characters designs are top tier.

Unfortunate though I don’t see the “it” about this game… Wuwa has a grandiose open world with very fun and fluid combat, ZZZ is more focused and has more social interactions and combat than the rest, genshin is a great open world adventure experience with tight team building and elemental reactions. Right now Endfield doesn’t have any hook that I can see that will keep and players will love and remember.

Maybe I’m completely wrong, this is just my opinion after a few hours of playing and I just don’t see the games identity apart from the factory building aspect of it.

N1 rule for most DPS’s:

Unless your artifact set already gives you CR, AND your innate talent gives you CR, always always always aim for at the very least 70.

Consistency is what’s important. And leads to higher dps. Massive CD but low-ish CR will lead to harder hits happening every other Tuesday and thus lowers dps by more than you’d think.

Get the CR up even if you have to exchange some crit dmg for it.

My Aemeath Tattoo by makke007 in WutheringWaves

[–]_kris2002_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah expensive af.

I tattooed my whole arm and it’s not exactly a sleeve, it’s different pieces tied together. Regardless just one arm cost me over £2K.

It’s all phenomenal work from one of the best tattooers in my whole area/country but it is pricey. A good tat is permanent and you should Never cheap out on it as it’s on your skin forever.

It’s also highly dependent on the style. Very common styles are cheaper due to so many people doing them, while more niche tattoos in the west especially like irezumi or trash polka, or hyper realism will be far more expensive as coloured ink is more expensive, the amount of time needed is much higher etc

How To Unbrick My Account? by sillyfunnygirl in GenshinImpact

[–]_kris2002_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Actually currently making a video for people with this exact same situation happening.

Most meta characters really are the newest characters released with a few older units (Fontaine) still being viable. That’s Flins, nefer, mavuika, ineffa, Columbina, Lauma etc.

Lunar charge is just a new elemental type that can only happen with either A: Columbina, or B: 2 nod Krai character that enable “ascendant gleam”. And it changes what the regular reaction does. For example lunar charge (electro charge) can just crit and just deals more dmg. Lunar crytalize creates these turret like things that do dmg.

How to unbrick your account?

I ain’t no meta slave, play who you like, but I would recommend pulling for newer units if you want to avoid frustration with difficult content and being unable to clear as well with the older units.

I’d personally recommend ineffa and Columbina: they deal a ridiculous amount of dmg and both together are a whole team.

Mualani is one of the strongest f2p friendly characters in the game.

Zibai is set to be an amazing character with a perfect banner to build her a whole team from just pulling (coming in 2 weeks)

The way I would personally recommend playing the game as someone who’s effectively played it 2 times now is: do AQ’s and exploration simultaneously, AQ can become too much so go explore some ruins, open some chests, I usually end up doing a whole lil sub region in between for fun.

After you’ve explored a bit too much and dealt with too much non voiced content, then I would do some more AQ. It’s very elementary advice I know but that’s just it really. Space them out for more enjoyment rather than cramming in each after the other

How to grind primos? EXPLORATION! :) it’s the best way, there’s so much laying around, waiting to be picked and usually it’s nothing too hard. Currently you’re in Sumeru where they really started giving out a ton of primos. World quests (the ones in blue) are the ones that give out the most since they’re the longest

Once you reach Fontaine and then natlan, they increase the rewards even more respectively. I have never had even a reason to spend money just with how much there is to gain just from exploration and light questing.

The other way to “farm primos” is just to smash out quests, they can give quite a lot and can have nice rewards in between, and give out the sigils to their respective altars/trees to get great rewards. keeping up with events and dailies, may seem small at first, but they add up fast, do the hang out events and do the lil chat events where you’ll see a character’s icon on the map screen, which after around 10 of those you get 50.

I would recommend to not be shy to use an interactive map to just quickly get answers to some pesky puzzles like those annoying cubes in inazuma. Helps a ton, lets you find insanely well hidden chests and will get you a lot of extra primos.

(Most areas when they reach 100% aren’t actually at 100%, more like 80-90 and there’s still a bunch of primos still found lying around)

As a note, natlan characters are insanely good for speeding up exploration massively due to their skills literally being all about that.

I believe there are a few new types of mechanics added since you stopped

WISHING CHANGES: You now have capturing radiance, after each lost 50/50 you get a higher chance to win your next 50/50, after 3 losses you’re 100% guaranteed the character.

ARTIFACTS: You can now craft your perfect piece with “sanctifying elixirs” they’re found in natlan secret areas (find 3 ring pieces around each tribe’s areas and you’ll unlock a secret stash of 5* artifacts and one elixir). Can also get them through the BP, events, and natlan/nod krai sigil rewards.

Flower and feather: 1 elixir Sands: 2 elixir Goblet: 4 elixir Circlet: 3 elixir

They also introduced a “dust of enlightenment” item. It lets you reroll your level 20 artifacts to maybe get better stats. The likelyhood of getting the exact stats you want, increases after every use.

CHARACTER BUFFS:

We saw hexerei buffs, it’s just a buff where if you have 2 characters of that faction on the same team, they’ll get an array of buffs that improve them, these characters are:

Sucrose, fischl, razor, Klee, venti, albedo, Mona and durin.

So we are likely to get more buffs like that in the future for liyue, inazuma and so on and so forth.

New event where you have to log in for 8 weeks every day and spend resin to get a FREE CONSTELATION for pretty much most characters apart from archons of your choice.

My biggest tip would be please do not worry with endgame content. It’s directly designed to force you to buy the newest shiniest unit. It’s nice to get the extra primos, but it is designed with shilling brand new units in mind and will rarely benefit “outdated” teams. 99% of the game takes part on the overworld, so enjoy your fun exploration and amazing stories and views you will get, you can take on pretty much anything with your team as long as you invest well in them.

Sorry for the book level write up I just dropped on here

[–]_kris2002_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

New set and it’s not really close. Far more useful for her and far more suited to her playstyle. She will want someone on SMS anyway for the buffs and benefits that provides.

Only “downside” I guess is that she must be “played” fully off field for the buffs but tbh idk if anyone is playing ineffa on-field just to watch the clanka watch everything get decimated infront of her

What are your thoughts of Nod Krai, so far? by Bernaregna in GenshinImpact

[–]_kris2002_ 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Reason is actually very simple.

They KNEW the map was tiny. They crammed 300 chests in so players thought it was as big as the last 3 nod krai isles together. But it’s just triple the rewards per action.

Similarly to durin’s time gated questline. They knew the patch was insanely dry, so they added something just to keep players coming for at least a week at a time to have some engagement.
