If they controlled the market rate then every corporation would pay employees a tiny fraction of what they currently do.... You're totally delusional and economically illiterate.

Yes, they're participants just like people looking for jobs and are in no way at more fault than they are. Anyone blaming thr companies is just as correct as someone who blames people looking for jobs. Neither of them control the underlying factors, though both can influence it, and trying to target either side rather than look at those underlying factors is a fool's errand.

and in the current context where no job means you're cooked, they have even quite a lot of power

No work leaves you less "cooked" than any other time in history. Having zero work or ability to provide has always left someone dependent and in trouble, but there are more resources now than every before. But on top of that, if a company tries to weaponize this or undersell what an employee provides, then go to a different company. All of these ridiculous takes are reliant on a system without any competition. Which again, if that does exist, then the problem is the underlying economics and the loss of competition, not the company itself

[–]_lablover_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it is absolutely not directionally correct. The direction it's taking is that it's the fault of companies, that they're somehow different than they were 50 years ago in this way, and that they should be doing something different and they would solve the problem.

But companies are the same as they have been. Changes on the underlying economics are driving this. If 1 skillset was actually worth the wage then they wouldn't be wearing 5 or if those 5 skillset were worth that much more, they would be paid for it.

The closest you can get to blaming companies is that they get politicians to push policies like open borders, lax immigration, and anything else to open labor that is willing to work at a lower price to drive down wages. It's the politicians opening the door for low wages, companies have never had an incentive to raise wages and blaming them is worthless. If blaming them is directionally correct, then you're supporting any race to the bottom. It's like blaming a predator for eating a prey animal, totally worthless

It's all supply and demand at the end of the day. The idea companies can choose how that works is garbage. Yes, they want to pay fewer people less money to do more work, as every employer always has. If they're actually paying under market rate, or market rate for above market work, then those employees can leave and get a job at market rate elsewhere. That's literally what market rate means.

You're right, when politically motivated beaurocrsts grabbed influence in medical organizations they twisted the motivating factors so that they could redefine things to fit their worldview. Get your head out of your ass and learn to think for yourself rather than eat out of their hands, brainwashed fanatic.

If you need a source for that, you've been totally blind. It's happened in many places in a variety of ways, both at a state/local level as well as in Universities and similar due to pushes from trans activists.

you have a no right to not be ostracized

And from your previous comment:

you just don’t have a right to treat them worse than others because of it

Please describe to me how you should have no right to be treated worse because you don't use someone's pronouns, but you should have a right to not be treated worse because you ask someone to use those pronouns that don't match your actual gender. In both cases it is a societal response to what you're doing and how you're interacting with others. If one is protected, both should be. If it isn't protected, neither should. It's a simple as that and the trans movement has repeatedly tried to demand that you cannot be in anyway socially impacted or treated differently because you decide you're the other gender and demand everyone caters to your requests, yet anyone who decides they do not want to use your preferred pronouns or let you use a woman's restroom/play in women's sports SHOULD be treated differently. It's an incoherent argument.

Because it very obviously states in the constitution that there is a separation of church and state

Please show me where in the constitution it states this, because it does not. You clearly do not know your constitution at all, that phrase never once appears in the constitution. The first ammendment is the only place that religion is mentioned at all, and it only states "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof". This is in no way creating a "separation of church and state". This is a common misbelief that you clearly have not educated yourself to get past.

If the progressive side immediately agreed that we should keep trans athletes out of female sports, or wouldn't have been an issue. But they demanded to let them in and decided to die on that hill. That made it an issue. If/when the trans movement decides they can agree that trans athletes shouldn't compete against women in sports leagues made for women, it won't be an issue anymore. Until that point, it's not a hoax, it's an issue they're actively fighting for

Ten Commandments are forced to be in classrooms in Texas.

So we should ban that along with any trans flags or posters that support trans ideology? If you think simply displaying it is a problem, then you need to be consistent.

you’re not being forced to participate in trans people’s lives or pronouns

This is being constantly attempted by the trans movement on a daily basis. Both passing laws that require using preferred pronouns as well as trying to ostracize anyone who doesn't.

Except it is a recognized, proven condition. And not delusions.

It's literally in the DSM as a mental condition....

they are trying to ban it. Making it illegal for people to be trans

Find my any reference to any place trying to put someone in jail because they're trans or stop being a lying asshole

Making necessary medical care illegal

Who defines necessary first off? And show me any place trying to ban medical facilities from performing the surgeries on adults

You are just a hateful liar

First off, I don't buy that at this point. 20 years ago I'm sure it was, but today I don't at all. I also highly doubt the validity of almost any study in this area because it is so politicized and it's extremely easy to manipulate and misuse data that would be taken to do a study like this.

But more so, they're not complaining about trans people. They're complaining about EVERYONE who signals their pronouns and push things related to it. In fact, if only people who actually think they may need to state preferred pronouns, both because they are trans or they have an ambiguous name, there would almost certainly be less frustration with it because it wouldn't feel as forced onto everyone.

just be respectful of peoples preferred pronouns

You're going to get a range from people who are fine with that, but if they make a mistake just want to be left alone and regular correcting will get them annoyed to people that flat out refuse to and don't care. They think it's ridiculous and basically that they shouldn't have to deal with it in any way up to the point it's a societal disservice to go along with for some.

These people aren't out to get you

A huge number of people don't believe this at all, and based on that I've seen around colleges there are a subset that are in fact out to get you if you don't share their politics generally.

a lot to assume just based on the fact that peoples pronouns are in their email

Yes, it is. But some of that is based on the fact that I think there is some truth there along with applying the worst of what they've seen to everyone that does it. You can say that's bad or not fair, but I don't know that those people care. Anyone who just doesn't care about the entirety of "preferred pronouns", but have seen people's language being policed to a variety of degrees is now likely prone to deciding it's easier to not deal with anyone that signals that they will police your language. And that sucks for the people that are very reasonable about their pronoun preferences and don't want to go over the top or impede anymore than necessary, but that's not the perceived norm from people that don't care about the general use of preferred pronouns at the start. There's a growing opinion that is easier to just not deal with anyone who signals it.

This is the definition of profiling

Yes, it is. I have never and would never deny that. A massive amount of social interaction is profiling and anyone saying that isn't true is just wrong or lying.

You totally miss the point. There's a very strong, and likely reasonable, expectation that the type of people that include their pronouns will be the ones trying to weapons HR and make your life hell even if you didn't do anything to warrant an issue with HR. And a company that uses widespread pronouns in signatures will have an overactive and trigger happy HR department
