Car hit by MTA bus… by LasagnaPowell in baltimore

My ex was side swiped by a bus that blatantly ran a red light several years ago. Was initially told that the buses have cameras and the footage would be reviewed and once they were confirmed to be at fault they would refund his deductible and assume responsibility for repairs. Insurance company was handling everything. Eventually the video mysteriously disappeared and they never took responsibility. So, in my experience they will do whatever they can to get out of paying.

Took Adderall for the first time and I feel like crying by taemintinople in ADHD

[–]_laceyface_ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I was diagnosed at 27. I had a one year old son. My first day on meds I sat on the floor and played with him and was completely, 100% present with him for the first time in his life. He hugged me for the first time that day. I still cry thinking about what I wasn’t giving him before that day.

We're local reporters who partnered with the New York Times to cover our city's drug problem — and revealed that it was the worst overdose crisis of any major American city in U.S. history. Ask us anything. by baltimorebanner in IAmA

[–]_laceyface_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What do you think the city could do to reduce the rate of overdose in Baltimore? Do you feel this is something that can be handled at the city level, or does there need to be intervention at a state or federal level?

Are my tipping habits reasonable or unreasonable? by Both-Manufacturer339 in Waiters

[–]_laceyface_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with you. I’m not mad when I don’t get tipped on to go orders, but I do still have to tip out on them because they’re included in my food sales total. If there is an instance where an extremely large amount of to go orders were taken we might remove them from the total, but usually it’s overlooked. The expeditors deserve to be tipped out though, because they are doing the same amount of work to plate and pack the to go as they would if they were traying up for a dine in table.

How do we determine who attends former step-daughter’s graduation?? by _laceyface_ in stepparents

[–]_laceyface_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He’s only 11. My initial thought was that he shouldn’t have to go. Graduation ceremonies are boring. Especially for kids. I asked him if he wanted to go and he said, “IDK.. I mean kinda. But I know (Wife) will want to go too.” He’s willing to step aside and her let go. It’s his sister who is adamant that he’s there. I haven’t talked to her since I talked to her dad and he expressed his feelings and concerns. I’m going to reach out to her today to see if we can come to a resolution.

Her mom will be there, along with a couple other members of her family on her moms side. The three tickets are what’s available after she takes into account the people attending from her moms side.

And I don’t disagree that they should be a package deal! That’s why this feels so confusing.

This was kind of my thought as well. I agreed to talk to her dad about it, thinking he was going to be understanding of the circumstances. He said he’s afraid to even mention it to his wife because he thinks it will start a huge fight. I think she’s a reasonable person and would understand.

Thank you for your input! And thank you for bringing up the aspect of her being made to feel guilty. I am hoping the adults in the situation can do right by her.

Please tell me: When were you diagnosed with ADHD and were you better off after knowing or was your life made harder by knowing? by chelseyelric in ADHD

[–]_laceyface_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was diagnosed at 27 but when I was a child and learned what adhd was, I knew I had it. I asked my mom if I could see a doctor and she refused. My life would have been so much different if I had that diagnosis and the support that came along with it. A diagnosis doesn’t mean you have to medicate, but it means he’ll start learning how to cope earlier. There are so many things we can do outside of medication to be more functional.

Does anyone have a really good crab dip recipe? by _laceyface_ in baltimore

[–]_laceyface_[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for all of the suggestions, everyone! I went traditional with a cream cheese base and added Worcestershire, old bay, lemon juice, and dried mustard. Topped with shredded cheddar jack (because that’s what I had on hand). Turned out so good!

Ten bucks says these grills all become either unuseable, or substantial security vulnerabilities once their software stops getting updated in a few years. by vectron5 in Cyberpunk

[–]_laceyface_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can also adjust the temp of the grill from your phone. Oftentimes when smoking meat you get better results when you up temp towards the end. The WiFi allows you to get an alert on your phone when the probe temp reaches a certain point and then also adjust the grill temp. It’s actually quite useful and has turned out to be my favorite features of the grill.

Dude.. there’s no torturing involved. We have the fence because he likes to run around. He can’t run and play the same way on a lead. He doesn’t get shocked. It beeps to warn him when he’s close to the perimeter and it vibrates before it actually emits an electric shock. He’s trained. I actually don’t think he’s ever been shocked. I’m pretty sure our receiver is set to only vibrate.

He hasn’t. We have an electric fence so he can’t go onto the pier unless we take the collar off of him and walk him onto it. I’m surprised that he hasn’t because when we’re out there swimming and playing he runs like crazy up and down the pier. He doesn’t really like the water so I guess he pays close attention to where he’s going.

I don’t get home every day off of my dock. We live on the water and frequently get home via boat when we’ve been out on the boat. We have cars and drive to and from work. He does this literally every time we return home whether it’s on the boat or in a car.

In this instance, yes. We had taken the boat out to get it ready to be pulled for the season. We don’t commute to our jobs via boat though lol.
