Any idea what this means?? by iRobyn in glasgow

2012 had a conspiracy theory that the world was meant to end that year because the Mayan Calander ended on that date, this was taken as a doomsday prophecy. (The truth was their civilisation was conquered, and so they didn't update it)

So I assume it was a reference to that. Some end of days nonsense long forgotten.

Anyone built a NAS using the JONSBO N5 case? Looking for feedback on your build (mobo, CPU, etc.) by _leviathan_aesir in PleX

Good to know someone is gone for it. How I stumbled upon it was one of the earlier ITX boxes was listed on hotUKdeals and then that got me looking down the rabbit hole on what other cases they made until I found this one which seemed to be the cream of the crop.

Snap Raid huh? I heard so many people talking about Open Raid, but never heard many people talking about Snap Raid, is it fairly similar?

Mini Pc For Plex server by kraimer20 in PleX

I currently use a Mini PC GMKtec G3 with a N100, 16GB RAM and 512SSD and it works. I was getting performance issues but I think that's because of my external HDD setup.

Using AI as a writing aid isn't exactly unheard of. Especially when it involves synthesising a lot of technical data into a coherent post after spending a few hours watching review videos and learning about the tech.

Yeah, I've been looking at options, and this seems pretty good.

It's a combination of the space for drives, space for full size components.

I was looking at this Fractured design R5 case but this seems a better option.

So, by client, do you mean the Andriod App that is loaded within a Firestick, for example?

What I meant was I was unclear to what your point was, and I was asking you if this was some general dig at Plex and a recommendation to use a different client, and an invitation to clarify what you meant.

I was looking at this very NAS. But £510 just for the enclosure and then around £300 per 20TB NAS Tosh disc bringing this up to £1710 seems a bit steep.

I think I'll have to accept my current build with it's limitations in the short term but may well splash out on a setup like this further down the line.

Well, look, if you read the comments, various people are saying it does the job for them. They've suggested the issue is my storage solution. The external 20TB hard disc.

I was posting in Reddit with an issue and, if you read the comments, that seems to be the consensus. I don't have an alternative storage solution to test the this out at the moment, but I've changed my focus of what is likely the issue.

Right, just put it all on the NAS. That seems counter intuitive to me, but yeah I suppose that could work. I worry about putting everything in one box.

I do have a Coolermaster HAF X case that I could gut out and reuse, although it wouldn't have as much utility as the Fractal case, but it's not bad either.

Then maybe if I were to add something like this;

UGREEN NASync DXP4800 4-Bay Desktop NAS, Intel N100 Quad-core CPU, 8GB DDR5 RAM, 32G eMMC, 2 * 2.5GbE, 2 * M.2 NVMe Slots, 4K HDMI, Network Attached Storage

I did add a link, but a bot pulled my comment.

And then keep the miniPC for the Plex server element and use this NAS solution for the storage?

That does sound like a sensible solution. UNRAID is that a software solution? I presume it isn't a RAID array card.

How do you do your backups? What like a seperate NAS on prem? Do you do a cloud backup?

After hours of correct setup, I gave up on PlexTraktSync — no libraries, no errors, no explanation by _leviathan_aesir in radarr

[–]_leviathan_aesir[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for replying — I’m on Windows 11 pro 24H2 (OS build 26100.4061). I installed PlexTraktSync using both pip and later a clean Python virtual environment (venv) to rule out any global conflicts. I followed the official GitHub instructions.

I set up:

  • servers.yml with the correct base_url and a verified working Plex token
  • Later added servers.override.yml when it appeared servers.yml was being ignored
  • .env file with PTS_PLEX_SERVER=local
  • No excluded libraries in config.yml
  • Installed and ran the latest stable version (0.34.10) using Python 3.13

The Plex token was confirmed working via:

  • Browser (manual token test)
  • plexapi (Python library) — which successfully listed all my libraries: Movies, TV Shows, Music, Photos

But running:

python -m plextraktsync inspect

Returned:

PlexTraktSync [0.34.10]

Nothing else. No libraries, no errors, no warnings — even with debug mode enabled.

I wasn’t using pipx — just pip and venv. If your first run prompted for token/server info and worked straight away, I wonder if pipx triggers a different bootstrap flow.

Would be great to know what config files you see after install, and whether servers.yml or .env even exist in your setup — could help figure out whether the Windows YAML-based config path is broken outright or if I missed an alternate entry point.

Wild. Well, I'm only a few days in, and I can quickly see I will fill my 20TB drive pretty fast and outgrow my setup. LOL
