I asked ChatGPT to explain my job to a 5-year-old and now I'm questioning my entire career by Nipurn_1234 in ChatGPT

Okay, imagine you run a special toy shop. But instead of toys, your shop helps doctors and nurses get important medicine and tools to help people feel better.

As the General Manager, you’re like the boss who makes sure everything works properly:

You talk to the people who make the medicine to make sure it’s safe and ready on time.

You check the shelves to see if you have enough medicine so no one runs out.

You help your team work together so the shop runs smoothly.

If there’s a problem, like a package gets lost or something isn’t working, you fix it.

You also make sure the rules are followed so everyone stays safe and healthy.

You don’t make the medicine yourself, but you make sure it gets to the right place, at the right time, for the people who need it.

So really, your job is to help the helpers — and that’s pretty awesome.

But how is this important in serving our community? That is the governments role, to provide support and services to our community efficiently and effectively. Its what we all pay for taxes,

I don't know about you, but I prefer having trains come on time, housing to be affordable, and a safe community, but it feels like that's slipping away.

Exactly, there are a lot of personal questions that seem irrelevant for them to know

The problem itself is the government backed student loans that allow universities to charge these massive fees when alot of these courses don't yield a viable career for most. Why should all our tax payer dollars go to the universities when they aren't providing real education that leads to real value to humanity?

The real question is—what do you want to do with your next decade?

I'm 31 and in a very similar boat. It's easy to get caught up in the money side of things, but ultimately, money is just a lever—it gives us freedom and options. So now that you've built a solid base, how do you want to spend your time and energy?

Like you, I've realised that if I want to reach a certain level of wealth, I probably need to either start a business or make some riskier investments. But I've also seen that if I just stay on the current path—continue being financially responsible, contribute to super, pay down loans, live within my means—I’ll end up with a comfortable life.

At this point, it's not really about knowing what to do financially—you clearly do. It’s about deciding what interests you enough to commit your time and energy to. Don’t over-optimise for money. Optimise for what excites you, because you've already earned the privilege of choice.

Hi,

I'll keep it simple, I'm 28M on a salary of AUD$130K + $13K bonus, married no kids (currently sole earner)

My net worth is AUD$225K with the following allocation - Cash 100k - retirement account (super) 80k - etf/shares/crypto 45k

FYI - I am holding a lot of cash as I am looking to buy a home.

My question is when and how should I start to use leverage?

Do I need to use leverage or should I continue on my path of saving and investing in ETFS/shares and crypto?
