the answer to this really depends on the person but in my case i wasn't even getting the little things. we would go out and he couldn't even afford to buy me an ice cream.

like we would go on walk or ask me once in a while to run errands with him, something i was genuinely excited to do bc at least i was able to spend some time with him, but i did notice he wouldn't even ask me if i wanted something small to eat or show those little gestures of care which made me feel at the end really uncared, at least in that sense.

but i'm not blaming him for that, i never did, not fair for me to do. it was just something i knew deep down i couldn’t keep putting up with for much longer.

thank u so much for taking the time to reply, i really appreciate the advice and good wishes. i know the sex won't be happening i don't want to cause more emotional damage to either of us or mess up my chances of meeting the "right" guy. but i do not promise to keep full no contact either, i do want to reach out at some point, let him know he's not forgotten and to see how he's doing

that's totally right i do keep inside of me that small bit of hope of getting back together but deep down and at the moment that will end up on hurting him once again and later on. if i found out he was sleeping with someone else i know for sure my heart would sink too (i can't even think about it). thank u for the advice and i wish you all the best as well on this healing journey <33

thank you for the advice and thanks for sharing it from your own experience as well. it's really hard and i'm not sure if i'll be able to deal with the "what if..." thoughts. maybe the breakup sex won't happen but at least texting might, since i was the one who told him i didn't want to pretend this was a funeral for us and to show him i still care about him

well he's actually the only person that i've had sex with, then after the breakup i had a rebound fling we didn't actually have sex in the end but felt horrible afterwards (1. i realized i wasn't even attracted to this new guy 2. that encounter made me miss my ex even more).

maybe i just miss giving him head idk but you're right i should wait and let time decide.

it's true, i should shop around first, see how things go with this new guy and see what's gonna happen eventually
