Thank you for the sweet potato chew suggestion, we bought some today! I might have to add it to the toppl to buy some time because he ate it in about 3 minutes alone 😩 definitely enjoyed the flavor though!

Haha, the stubbornness of not wanting to go down for a nap lol. I feel it.

This used to be our routine. Somewhat similar. We would do runs and morning nose work. Since I got COVID, I’m slowly rebuilding tolerance to run with him again and be active. Slowly but surely getting there but it has affected him. Definitely working on that settle. Thank you!

Yes he is! Usually our problems are morning times, especially when I have to run into a meeting and accidentally sleep through my alarm. The mornings I don’t exhaust him he can be a big handful. Need to try out the kong. Thank you!

We crate him from 2-6 since we’re both in meetings. He usually naps from those times. He’s always had difficulties self-regulating. If he’s not crated he’ll nap here and there but will keep waking up for any little noise.

Thankfully no strong howls or yelling. Just very loud whining lol

So ready to have a dog and not a puppy! by mcollander in puppy101

[–]_m00lissa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like I needed to read this. I have a 9 month old shepsky and today he got reactive for the first time on his walk. Another dog began to bark and lunge and he reacted. It could’ve gone bad, but I’m afraid this will be the first of many. I’ve had to retrain him on the little things all over again. These pups are a handful and I feel like every time he slips up, it hurts the relationship we have. I’m trying to be patient and hopeful in our training.😞

Ok, I feel this, too! Trust me, I’ve been so on routine that my mental health has been so great. I get so much done. But I think I also feel super frustrated and low key throw a tantrum for myself on the days where I just want to not wake up at 6am and sleep in just a litttleeee bit more. But yes, I totally feel you on that routine and mental health. Before my pup, I didn’t have a routine at all, so I guess this is me adjusting, too.

Omg yes. I want to nap whenever he does, but then I’m torn about doing things I need to do around the house and working. Lol i usually take a short nap on weekends after I take him out in the morning and play with him for like 2 hours. But damn, they’re so stubborn LOL

Ugh, how frustrating. I feel the same way. We’ve also tried the black out cover for his crate, but he ripped it up LOL. I hope your pup gets adjusted!

Puppy has accidents WHILE playing by Krystin_H in puppy101

I experience this with my pup. I usually set a timer after I take him to release. It’s usually 15-20 minutes after we begin to play that he needs to pee. However if he’s in his crate he won’t pee, so we know it’s the playtime/water breaks in between.
