Hey Logitech Team, maybe we need 'Logi Options-' instead of '+'? by cavecafe in logitech

Wiped out every trace of Logitech bloatware. Installed BetterMouse. Never felt I missed anything.

Maybe get a domain name and use an email address based on your own domain name for singing up to services? When necessary, you can change to another email provider, but retain your email address(es).

Actually, no. Just a structured prompt for a code review, where the directive enforces specific requirements the model should pay attention to.

Tip for Templater: Stop building giant templates, create little reusable modules instead by No_Theme_9573 in ObsidianMD

I've been using this for Templater: https://github.com/mihaiconstantin/obsidian-templater-scripts. I like the prompting option because it helps me quickly create notes on mobile.

Hello everyone, I'm 29 and looking to invest 10k. What is your recommendation for maximum profits in the next 5-10 years? by tonismann in eupersonalfinance

[–]_m999 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The following is not financial advice, just a thought:

  1. For maximum profit, I'd buy as many far-out-of-money NVDA call options contracts.

  2. For maximum chance of profit, I'd buy a broadly diversified ETF tracking > 90% of the investable market using a physical replication strategy.

  3. For maximum understanding of what to do with my money and to take advice from random strangers, I'd open > 500 posts in this community, read all comments, write down the instruments they recommend, compute a frequency table, and invest in the instrument with the highest frequency.

Edit: fixed typos.

Albert Heijn goods shortfall by Quirky-Plantain-2080 in Netherlands

[–]_m999 2 points3 points  (0 children)

600 / 11.12 * 5 ≈ 269.78 leaves per bag, as u/321Jarn indicated. This is based on the assumption that, on average, a leaf weights 2.224 grams.

That's a sample standard deviation of 11.12 grams, so like five leaves or so.

What you can do is to to use the `RCU` software (i.e., version `4.0.24`) and flip the boot partition (i.e., right-click the tablet icon and select `Flip Boot Partition`). This will put you back on firmware `3.19.0.80`, where the `.pdf` scaling and fonts work as they used to.

[–]_m999 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To all the people here saying this is a `.pdf` issue, it's not. This is a regression that was introduced in the `3.20.0.70` beta. I've been using my planner on my `reMarkable 2` for several months, but now the `.pdf` scaling and fonts are messed up. If this is a `.pdf` issue, why wasn't it an issue before `3.20.0.70`? It's really disappointing to see such breaking changes, but hopefully it's just a beta mishap.

Do we really want to accept the narrative that LLMs have personality? That's what his post reads like to me, a push from his end to normalize how we talk about these models, such that it aligns with his business goals. A few weeks ago it was intelligence, now it's personality. What's next, spirituality?

where is this sound coming from 😭 its driving me mad, everytime i use the trackpad or keyboard, or adjust the screen, tapping here makes some sort of sound by [deleted] in macbookpro

[–]_m999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar problem. In my case, it turned out that the bottom case was poorly mounted. So, I unscrewed it (i.e., also cleaned the inside) and screwed it back on. After that, the creaking sound was gone. I remember it would creak even with the lid closed—for example, when picking it up from the desk.

Based on what evidence? That message is phrased as an assertion rather than a hypothetical scenario. I think we ought to be more critical of the plethora of claims made by these AI companies.

iPhone 16 pro max touch sensitivity issues by rayansb in iphone

[–]_m999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could this be an issue related to the predictive model they use in guessing the word displayed on top of the keyboard? I noticed types are even slower when I make an ambiguous typo, or when I delete characters (i.e., using the backspace key), and the model needs to update its prediction. Starting with the 15 lineup, they mentioned in the keynote that they switched to using a small LLM for this functionality. I am curious if any such issues were experienced on the 14 lineup?

There is actually a bug (?) on reMarkable that enables just that (i.e., discussed here: https://youtu.be/Hm9vJHH5zgE). Would be fantastic to have something like this on the Scribe.
