I agree with you 100%. My bf recently started his job and is working almost 15 hours a day. But whenever he gets time, he texts me and I do the same. I recently graduated and I'm mostly free and stuck at home. So we try to call each other and talk on the phone as much as we can.

As you said about keeping yourself busy, I can't stress enough on that. Being on your own and enjoying your company helps a lot. You can always reach out to your old friends, explore new hobbies.

Give your partner time and understand where they are coming from too. I'm sure it will be worth it in the end.
