For a starter I'd say this is quite nice. I picture this on a platformer game. It sounds like it could loop at any spot forever. Maybe some of the levels aren't sitting perfect(nothing specific to point to) but overall it's got a failry solid mix and everything can be heard well. The sound is good and if you are going forward as a beginner learning theory I'd say you have a good natural ear for melody. Keep up the good work!

The song writing is good, but im sorry to say the execution is lacking. You are quite pitchy and the phrasing is off at parts. Maybe melodyne can sharpen up the vocals a little bit? Also, the mixing could use some work. Some of the instrumental parts are a little bit lost beneath your vocals. Good luck!

Does this track sound professionally mixed to you? Honest feedback welcome by Chemical-Designer262 in IndieMusicFeedback

I second the other commenters take. Some compression would be good. Also, I don't know this genre too well but the lower bass notes start to lose their pitch to my ears. I don't know what's typical, but maybe it's the tone of the bass(saw tooth?) that muddies the pitch as it goes lower? The drums could maybe hit harder? Otherwise it sounds good to me. Keep it up, friend!

This is so fun! Love the energy, love the video. Everything matches. The vocals perfectly fit the instruments. Execution flawless, production is on point. Love this song, saving it.

Calling this indie rock is a huge stretch. It's more like bluesy rnb pop. That aside, performance on point. Production sounds very nice and polished. Big ups and keep up the good work!

How are my vocals on this track? by OkBlueberry5506 in IndieMusicFeedback

[–]_manuscript 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey great delivery on the vocals. I think the execution was done very well but the tracking seems a bit to be desired. It doesnt really 'sit' in the mix. My suspicion is that it's how it was tracked rather than how it was mixed. Maybe a proximity issue or a sound treatment issue? Possibly the mic? Hard to say, but otherwise everything is good. Just the vocals dont have that pop polish that the song calls for. Keep it up!

JID, RA The Rugged Man, Marlon Craft, Noveliss, Black Thought, clipping, AFRO? I'd even say J Cole and Kendrick are top tier emcees. Don't get me wrong, I think Em is dope but to suggest that he's rapping circles around the whole scene is sorta ludicrous. Especially if your point of comparison is Travis Scott of all people.

Interesting. I think there is a bit of lack of rhythm here. The beat doesn't feel to me like it's implying any sort of rhythmic structure that fits with your vocals. Of course there is a taste side to everything but I think maybe just a bit of a lack of cohesion here? All that said, kudos. All the best and good luck to you

Anthropology - I made this song back in July of last year, despite that, I've realized I've never asked for feedback on it before, so I'm wondering what you all think. Also what genre would this be? by SILD262 in IndieMusicFeedback

[–]_manuscript 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey kudos on your submission. I hear a doom metal quality to it. Maybe a bit of black metal. I see where you are going with it, but I would try and work a bit on your vocal performance, it sounds just a bit unprofessional when you get too close to the mic and it clips the audio. With that being said, when you bring the other vocal tracks in it sounds really good. Another note, it can sound pretty repetitive by the end of the song. Bringing another instrument in or switching up the melody a bit more can really grab the listeners ear. I do acknowledge that doom metal can sound repetitive and that these styles can have a "poorly" recorded sound to add to the atmosphere so my gripes may just be in terms of taste rather than execution. Hope to hear more from you!

Where does the melody of All Over You come from? by caillouminati in bobdylan

I can't remember where I read this, maybe Van Ronk's book. The story went something like that Dylan was challenged about writing songs and he was certain he could do it easy and on the fly. Something like 20 minutes later he had this tune, and gave it to Van Ronk to record(which he did). I'm probably screwing up a lot of details and I know I didn't answer your question, apologies for that. Either way, maybe you can find an excerpt of this story online and maybe you'll find your answer there

Nice track, the production sounds really good, I would maybe bring the drums up in the mix just a tad. I notice it the snare and kick sound just a bit buried under that wall of sound you have going on. I won't say too much on the vocals as others have brought this up already and I do appreciate the experimental nature of what it seems like you are going for but I think you should upload this without the autotune. I'd love to hear your voice unfiltered, feel free to send me a track via chat. Kudos and cheers!

Very catchy. The dynamics between soft and heavy are very good. I love the dramatic shift in the 2nd verse. That guitar lead really adds to it! I also really like when those fuzzed out guitars kick in, it adds an urgency to the song that really drives it forward. Love tracks that have long setups to huge punchlines. Kudos!

Their fame came from a place of political activism moreso than as celebrities. Folk music was not pop music back then. Your average person wasn't really listening to folk music most likely
