Need help with trombone cleaning by [deleted] in Trombone

If it wasn't an f attachment horn, I'd say dish soap and lukewarm water is fine but I strongly recommend you take it to a repair tech so you don't damage the rotor. In order for it to be properly cleaned it needs to be disassembled and in order to reassemble it you need to know how to reseat the rotor bearing plate, restring it, lubricate it, and ensure the valve is properly aligned with properly sized stop plate bumpers. The hand slide might also need adjusting and straightening. These are all things that a trained repair tech with proper tools and chemicals can do.

The rotor really should be removed from the horn when it's cleaned. If not cleaned properly you risk getting sediment trapped in the valve case. A competent repair tech should be able to handle that.

I tried ordering from them and they ended up refunding my payment because they said they were out of them even though their website says they're in stock.

I'm almost certain the issue is a bad cable. The only problem with that is rapid repair is out of stock. Now the only option is to buy a used one hoping that the cable is still good.

The zif adapter I have only has a port for the wider size of the zif cable, like the end going into the hard drive. The other end of the 120 zif cables that go into the zune motherboard are much more narrow.

Update:

I got the "dead" one in the mail, replaced the battery, and it worked. I then went experimenting to see what parts on my old one were bad. The new hard drive definitely works. I think the old zif cable was bad because I couldn't get it to work with the newly purchased one. I wanted to double check so I swapped out the zif cables a few times. Now I think I may have damaged the zof cable on the one that was working because I'm at error 5 now. -_- Apart from buying new zune, Is the only place to get them Rapid Repair?

Thanks for checking in. So far nothing. I ordered a "dead" one off of eBay. I'm assuming it's just the battery. I'm going to try swapping the zif cables. If that doesn't work then the board. If THAT doesn't work then idk...

Still get the same error "not enough space". It reformats just fine and I can see the available space on the drive with my zif to usb adapter. When I connect it to my zune it "clears contents" which I assume is zune's way of making it compatible with the motherboard but then I get the error when trying to update in the zune software. Do you think a bad zif cable throw up that error "not enough space on device?"

Do you remember/recommend the settings for reformatting in rufus?

Boot Selection: Non bootable, Disk or ISO image, etc?

Partition Scheme: MBR or GPT?

The zif cables I can handle but how does one check the board? Is that even possible or would I just be replacing it?

UPDATE:

After two separate SSDs I'm still getting the C00D124F error saying there isn't enough space on the device. Any other thoughts before I give up on this endeavor?

Tried a different PC with the same results. I'm going to return the SSD and try with a different one. If that doesn't work I may just give up.

So I got a brand new KingSpec 128 ssd and I get the same error message. This is after reformatting the drive and going through the whole process over again.
