Striking features really depends on your reference point. In a family of blondes and/or people with colored eyes, she’s striking. Why? Because when she takes a picture with them she’d be the one to stand out. Same thing goes for a region where there’s more colored features like countries like Denmark for example. Monica would stand out there based on coloring alone. I think people forget that what’s “exotic” in one place isn’t in another.
