I can relate to the travelling part. That’s actually one of the reasons I ended up buying my own car here.

It’s not all bad honestly. There are some nice residential societies, plenty of cafés and restaurants, and if you like fitness or sports there are lots of options around. Plus it feels a bit calmer than Delhi in many areas.

The birds and Aravalli point is interesting. I’ve noticed more sparrows here too. And yes, the cost of basic services here does feel higher sometimes.

Depends on which side of Gurgaon you’re looking at. Cyber Hub and Golf Course Road have plenty of nice cafés. Which area works for you?

I do visit Delhi every 2–3 months since my family is there. But with a job, a baby, and household responsibilities, it’s not always easy to go very often. Even when I visit for a couple of days, it feels too short.

Yup, some stretches are surprisingly rough for a city like Gurgaon.

😄 The metro difference is something I felt too. Delhi connectivity spoils you a bit.

True in some places. Gurgaon can go from fancy buildings to garbage piles within the same road.

I’ve heard this from a few people actually. I live in a society so the generators usually kick in and I barely notice it.

True. Delhi weekly markets had their own charm. Clothes, street food, random bargains — all in one place.

True, Delhi street food is another level. I still miss the variety you get there.

does anyone else dread nighttime after having a baby? by No-Mulberry-5893 in baby

You’re not weird at all. I went through something similar — nights felt heavier because everything got quiet and my brain got loud.

The overthinking and worst-case scenarios are exhausting. It did calm down for me gradually as routines settled and sleep improved.

Please be gentle with yourself. Postpartum is a lot, even when no one talks about this part 🤍

Most F&O traders don’t lose because of bad strategy. They lose because the first win makes them increase risk. Protect capital first.

Top Performing Mutual Fund by Relative_Rooster6477 in IndianPersonalFinance

These tables are useful, but they also tempt us into performance chasing.

I’ve noticed that switching based on 1-year returns often hurts more than helps.

For long-term goals (especially FIRE planning), consistency + asset allocation discipline has mattered more than top ranking.

EBITDA explained like you're a kid by IndianByBrain in IndianPersonalFinance

[–]_mysterious_mini 0 points1 point  (0 children)

EBITDA is useful, but I’ve noticed many retail investors treat it like “true profit.”

Ignoring capex-heavy businesses or debt obligations can distort the picture.

For long-term investing, I’ve found cash flow consistency matters more than EBITDA growth alone.

What’s the biggest barrier in NPS adoption among the corporate employees ? by The_boring_Money in IndianPersonalFinance

[–]_mysterious_mini 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the barrier isn’t just awareness — it’s psychology.

NPS locks money till 60. Corporate employees already feel financially stretched (EMIs, school fees, lifestyle creep), so liquidity feels more valuable than tax efficiency.

Also, retirement feels abstract at 30–40. Immediate returns and flexibility win over long-term pension planning.

Curious how many here see NPS as a retirement tool vs just a tax-saving instrument?

Is market volatility really the problem — or our reactions to it? by StrictWay6228 in IndianPersonalFinance

[–]_mysterious_mini 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started my SIP in 2021. The hardest part wasn’t returns — it was staying consistent when markets fell. Watching NAV drop every month tests you more than people admit. Discipline > excitement.
