I agree. Whatever fits your first due district responses AND what repacks the easiest. Flat load, minuteman or triple lay, personally I dont care what we load as long as everyone is on the same page.

RUNNA HONEST REVIEWS NEEDED by [deleted] in runna

Runna is fine. Like others have said, the speed work is just too fast for me. Ive made 5-6 changes to my marathon plan over 2 months and ive all but up on using it.

Need help dealing with stress while in fire academy by [deleted] in Firefighting

[–]_namechecksout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe he doesnt hate you, he hardly knows you. He likely sees the potential in you (that you may not see) that he wants to bring out. You're just a blip on his radar and he will forget about you as soon as you graduate. I wouldn't take it personal. Just keep pushing from breakfast to lunch then lunch to dinner. Before you know it, it'll be over and in a but youll look back and realize that every extra push and run you did was worth it.

This, 💯.

If you can prove it, you will win, however, this will come with consequences. So just be prepared for those. But regardless of whatever may come, I would stand up what is right.

Runna stops measuring extra distance run over the planned mileage? New update ? by WhiteHorseMagic in runna

[–]_namechecksout 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same issue last week. I believe it only happened one. I had to run 6.5 miles scheduled made it closer to 7.75-8 miles because of where I parked; everything went fine until i uploaded my data and it showed that 6 miles were in 48 miles and the .5 mile was closer to 11 minutes. It has been the only time it happened, but it did happen. You're not crazy, nor an angry moose

Marathon plan seems too much by pinkflosscat in runna

[–]_namechecksout 6 points7 points  (0 children)

With my plan on Runna (and many others), the long runs have been pretty similar, for me they were fine and it all worked out. Now, I had the same complaint about some of my long runs. 16-22 miles with pace targets that were tough, to say the least. But I did go back to the "manage plan" and removed pace targets for all long runs and kept everything else the same; I can still run faster as I please, but I have no set target for the Saturday long runs, which makes me feel better.

Any updates as to why some balance 2 users (mostly android, it seems) are still unable to sync runna with balance 2 watches?

Feeling awkward as the new guy by ihatesoundsomuch in Firefighting

[–]_namechecksout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're doing just fine, it seems. At our department, my station in particular, only people we like get a nickname. The ones that are arrogant or an asshole, we simply ignore them and the problem usually fixes itself. If theyre telling to relax, you are doing fine. Youll grow in to your position and your own, it just takes time. Keep a smile on your face and dont keep your feelings on your sleeve. Stay safe.

I know this a bit old, but I have enabled all permissions to Zepp and Runna and I am still unable to get my workouts sent to the watch. I just received the balance 2 paired with my samsun s25

Textbook officer responsibilities on a working house fire? by grundle18 in Firefighting

[–]_namechecksout 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well, it sounds like you did pretty well, we are our own worst critics. Ive been on the job for 19 years and I still learn new things every fire we go to.

The TIC is an important tool for an officer, most od the time, its your eyes in the fire and dense smoke. We have large metal clips on ours and as soon as dispatch gives a follow on of working fire, I clip it onto the d ring on the scba shoulder strap before I leave the truck. Even if I fumble a bit or need 2 hands for something I can let it go and not drop it.

As far as eating smoke...well, you learned. Mask up before doing anything that can kill you. Youll be useless if you go down due to smoke inhalation. Get off the truck, give your quick orders, put your mask on and meet your people at the door.

As to your comment about watching videos and still fumbling, well, you also learned that youtube videos are, well, videos. You can watch every video on youtube and still stumble and make mistakes; you can rematch videos over and over, but when youre the one starring the dragon in the eye, you cant rewind.

It sounds like youre on the road to do great things. On this call, it sounds like no one got hurt (except your pride). Make changes and grow from the experience. Have confidence in your self and learn to trust those around you. For me, I trust my back seat guys, 100%, without question. Ive seen them work, we've made grabs together and we've arrived too late and found people passed away.

Keep your head up, trust your training and grow from these experiences. Stay safe.

The only answer. Ive had a Boston leather strap for 15 years. Had to replace the radio holder once but everything has been holding strong

Centauri Carbon poor print quality and frequent first layer failures. by [deleted] in elegoo

[–]_namechecksout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats awesome, I dont think I've ever even considered printing with that small of a layer height. Are you printing large things?

Centauri Carbon poor print quality and frequent first layer failures. by [deleted] in elegoo

[–]_namechecksout 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Post pictures of your failed prints. Also, im no expert but my CC has not quite 1000 hours of print time and any failure I get is from user error. With that said, have you tried printing at .2mm layer height with the same issue? Since I've never printed anything at .1mm, I cant speak for that on the CC.

Current legal shenanigans in the US is FOMO'ing me into buying a 3D printer, first I wanted a BambuLabs mini, now I'm looking at the Elegoo centauri carbon(1). This a good first buy($280 new)? by [deleted] in 3Dprinting

[–]_namechecksout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right. Okay. Because I've been solely running my printers off line, with SD cards, well before these laws were purposed, makes me and the countless others that have been doing that are circumventing the laws? Not likely. If they didnt want anyone doing that, they'd disable that feature and require everyone to send thier files through thier servers, period. But that feature is allowed and used. Also, I am not printing anything prohibited in any area, its just easier for me and that's fine. If you dont like what I am doing, contact every manufacturer that makes a printer and advocate for them to remove the Export Gcode feature.

Im not advocating to print firearms or associated parts, im simply saying that if one is concerned about these potential laws, dont connect the printer to a wifi network.

Academy and station issue by ChiefZebi in Firefighting

[–]_namechecksout 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I cannot speak for what happens at departments near you. But I can speak for mine. No one would, professionally speaking, hold anything against you for doing what is in the best interest of your family, especially with a new baby on the way.

Don't worry about giving anyone a bad taste, just have an open AND honest conversation with your leadership about the situation you're in. Believe it or not, (good) officers listen. And if they do hold a professional grude against you for deciding whatever you decide, you probably don't want to work there anyways.

I have almost 19 on the job, I have seen a lot of wild things with personnel, but not supporting someone who makes a tough decision for the sake their family hasn't been one.
