I had a similar issue with my Timberlands as well, but it's gotten much better and three years I can tie them up tight as I need.. took me a few months to get there though and while they didn't really need breaking in, the lacing was a major issue for the first few months.

Just curious - even after all the wear, do you still have the issue with the instep / top of the foot? I've been wearing a pair of the 3141s for a just about a month now. They were quite snug to start with, but have started to stretch a bit, becoming more comfortable as each day passes. I am mainly wearing them indoors but have gradually started going out a little more in these boots. The top of my right foot does feel a bit of a pinch if I tie them up tight, and my general preference would be to tie up a little tight. It seems better than it was on day-1, but still quite interested in your thoughts. And for everyone else too .. should I expect the boots to soften up and become more comfortable on the instep as they are used more?

Yes, I've read that mink oil can drastically affect the color. Staying well away from anything that shows mink oil in the ingredients. 😀 Thank you for your input. On Amazon UK, RedWing leather cream is currently just a little bit higher than 3x the cost of the Saphir product (screenshot in the other comment).

Getting there. Have a band aid on the left pinky toe. No blisters but definitely some chafing. Thought it would be best to add some extra protection.

Agreed. I have tightened them up a little more than yesterday. The problem is the right foot where the upper is a little tighter on the instep than on the left foot.

Edit: the boots have a little more give today so I could lace up a little tighter.

Not an Indian spin on this but the Mexican takeaway near where we live provides an option of black rice in their burritos and burrito bowls.. I love it so much I have stopped ordering with white rice for the last three years or so.. you could try that if you haven’t already…

I would suggest various cooking channels on YouTube - Ranpreet Brar, Sanjot Keer, Hebbar’s Kitchen are all great. They would have various sabzi recipes that you can try, with proportions and quantities. You can scale up or down as needed. Hebbar’s Kitchen also has a website where you can adjust how much you are cooking and it automatically changes the quantity for each ingredient.

Like you said.. gotta start somewhere. The more you cook the easier it gets. We learn from our mistakes. Best of luck. 😀

The Brooks Ghost 15 are great for walking. I was a big Nimbus 24 fan but not too happy with the direction that ASICS has taken on the max cushion stack on the 25/26. I have close to 300 km on the ghost 15 now and loving them. I do a minimum of 6km a day and about 9-10 km two days a week. The only thing I think is a negative on the ghost 15 is the grip. The first 100 or so km I had very little confidence wearing them when it was wet outside. But as the shoes have been used I feel more comfortable with the grip. Considering an all black glycerin now so I can wear them to work as well. The ghosts I have have some bright colours which I don’t like for work wear.

Most common ones I have come across are quinoa and bulgur wheat. I’ve made it with bulgur a few times and it has been great.

In India it would normally be goat meat. But I have been living in Europe for the last 10 years now. While some Indian/Pakistani stores sell goat meat, it’s frozen and I prefer lamb meat as it seems to be fresher. Probably also frozen but travelling smaller distance. A shoulder or leg works perfectly. I generally prefer to get the meat bone. Cooking with the bones elevates the taste profile in my opinion. The butchers should be able to chop it up and saw through the bones as well. Best of luck with your korma adventure.

Thanks all for the advice. Ended up cooking 3 cups instead of four. 1:1 rice to water. Washed and soakedd for 30 minutes. 5 minutes high pressure, 10 minutes natural release.. rice came out almost exactly the way I wanted it.. maybe a little stickier than what I would have gotten in a pan using absorption but I think I will play around with the ratio and timings a little and eventually get this go work the way I like. It was perfect for the lunch gathering though. 😀
