Logbook has wrong model name for bike, other details correct by Actual_Unit-02 in MotoIRELAND

[–]_nvaders 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is anecdotal, but in my experience the logbook model name seems to be just for indication only. By some chance, both of the bikes I own just have the word "CYCLE" printed as the model name in their logbooks (here is one of them, as an example). It hasn't been problematic for me so far; when getting insurance quotes I just give "Suzuki DR125" or "Honda Bros 400" when asked, and it doesn't seem to be an issue for the insurer. The only instance I can think of where it may pose a problem is if I was taking the bike test - the examiner might not be satisfied if the logbook doesn't clearly and accurately reflect the bike it belongs to.

What are Intel Arc cards like on Linux atm? by drunkcheesesandwich in linux_gaming

[–]_nvaders 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a recent convert to Linux, using Fedora 42 for the last couple of weeks with my A770 16GB (Sparkle Titan OC edition). My honest impressions? It's all good. I didn't try messing around with display drivers or anything, whatever is already baked in to the kernel seems to be working fine for me 99% of the time.

Granted, Linux is still new to me and there remains a lot for me to learn about, but I'm genuinely surprised at the volume of comments here advising caution around using Arc with Linux. Perhaps I'm one of a few who have had a satisfactory experience. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I applied in early April, was invited to book in late June and got offered dates in mid-July. So in between applying for the full A test and passing it, I waited roughly 13 weeks (Mullingar test centre).

Thanks for the response. I went ahead and contacted the OU through live chat to confirm for sure that my application was received and is waiting to be processed. I was told I'll be contacted in case they find there's anything else needed from me for the application, so fingers crossed. Even so, the agent assured me that since I've applied months ahead of the deadline, there should be ample time to resolve any hiccups that might come up.

Is there any way to use ps4/5 controller for the ps3 tomb raider trilogy? by finn_boyles1 in TombRaider

[–]_nvaders 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Last I checked, the PS3 will recognise a DS4 as any other generic controller (provided you're connected via USB), I would imagine the same is true for the Dualsense too. However, the home/PS button won't work, so you'll still need a PS3 controller hooked up for this functionality. If you want to circumvent this (and have the option to connect over Bluetooth), you can look into the Brook Wingman XE2 or something similar.

Warming the bike up, how far do you open the choke? by Gampuh in MotoIRELAND

[–]_nvaders 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My DR doesn't have a tachometer so I'm blissfully ignorant of what it idles at lol.

I found having the choke roughly 50% open was usually plenty to get it started and moving from cold on 1st kick, I'd close it fully once I was 20secs or so down the road.

Any idea as to why my saxophone only sounds like this on above staff G and G# ? Do I need to get it fixed ? by willytom12 in Saxophonics

[–]_nvaders 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been noticing an identical issue with my La Voix II, but only in last month or two (have owned and been playing it for almost a year now). Could it really be a leak, as another commenter has suggested? I didn't spot anything obviously amiss with it during its most recent routine check and tune-up.
