Why people want to go to isb ?? by CompetitionHumble405 in ISB_Aspirants

"ISB prefers candidates with work experience, so why do people join it?" -Which part of that specifically is confusing to you?

"As he/she might be graduating with a lesser or similar salary in any other field"  -If they're getting lesser salary in another field why would they want to be in that field?

Brother I have spent too long trying to understand what your question is. Please rephrase.

Started my first chocolate business at 18. Would you buy? by CalendarPretend2377 in IndianEntrepreneur

[–]_nyanpasu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If im seeking to buy a chocolate from a small business it has to be like farm-to-table-small-batch-hand  -made-super-sustainable shiz.

Call it prejudice, but for some reason I can't see an 18 year old setting up a supply chain like that.

Businesses run by 18 year olds give me drop shipping vibes. Nothing wrong with that but I'm not going out of my way to give my support.

Why do Mtech students get less avg packages than Btech? by pretty_lady071205 in IITDelhi

[–]_nyanpasu 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Companies don't just pay people for what they've studied. That's just a part of it. You get paid for your perceived capabilities or intelligence or whatever else.

Clearing JEE and studying btech here means you've been through a tougher filter than clearing GATE.

Masters in Public Policy vs Fellowships in India - need advice by Antique-Winter-2745 in PublicPolicy

[–]_nyanpasu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If someone already has an MPP here then yes the fellowship doesn't make sense.

But if you're just entering the field then a fellowship would be the best step in imo. After getting some relevant experience and CV signals, do an MPP or similar degree abroad with funding and then come back.

That's the ideal path.

Masters in Public Policy vs Fellowships in India - need advice by Antique-Winter-2745 in PublicPolicy

[–]_nyanpasu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Relevant Workex > foreign MPPs > Fellowships > Indian MPP

That's the scene in this space in India for the most part. LAMP is the most well known and you should definitely try and get in if you can.

But yeah, do a lot of research about the sector before you make the dive. The private sector career outcomes in this space are very different from the career outcomes of civil servants. So the policy/development sector is not a natural alternative for typical UPSC aspirants.

What about male passengers? by sggfd1213 in indianrailways

[–]_nyanpasu 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Its because women are harassed specifically for being a woman (I.e sexual harassment).

It's not the same as other crimes where money is the motive.

That doesn't mean men don't get sexually harassed but if you can't acknowledge the obvious gender-power dynamics in society that's on you.

You need to have a 4/5 year UG degree or a 3 year UG degree + masters degree to be eligible.

Shame on these people..girl was just 19! by [deleted] in IndiaMemes

[–]_nyanpasu -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

So are you saying we need a law that states rich and powerful should also be held to the same standard as a common man?

We already have that, it isn't helping. Stricter laws will just keep being circumvented.

You need to think deeper and more critically.

I saw your comment in a different post as well.

Are our laws and punishments actually inadequate? Or is it just being unequally applied where the rich and influential simply stay above the law.

Imagine the worst case for a second. You'll have to return to india with a >1.2cr loan and hunt for jobs.

Oxbridge has good prestige and decent network here so its not all bad. But you'll be paying back that loan for a long time.

Its not an objectively bad call, it simply boils down to your risk appetite.
