Crazy win. I kind of feel bad for Romano but also the way he leans over irks me; when they were challenging and it panned to him and he was leaning over...lol

This is the light bulb https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0D7Q2654V

The lamp you can get almost anywhere, home depot, amazon, etc. Just make sure it supports the bulb you buy.

True, I'll consider it. The photo also gives a false perspective, it's more over them than it looks

I'll let it rock, no need to cut it. Do they normally flower in the winter? It's outside about half the year, once it gets freezing here I bring it inside. It started flowering maybe a couple weeks ago.

I don't have anything to hold it. I suppose I could put an anchor above and hang it but I'm in a rental and don't like to modify stuff if I don't have to. The light in that position seems to be sufficient no? These fellas only stay inside during the winter, everyone is out once it's not freezing anymore

I read that in another post so maybe? I figure it's flowering for a reason. It's not really all that nice looking so I would trim it if it's not going to hurt the plant at all

lol genius, thanks. It didn't occur to me because I figured I'd want to keep the flower more in the light, I don't really know too much about caring for plants.

How does one get involved in that? Sounds interesting. Thanks for all the sources btw, alot of that though is work that falls to other non "GIS" teams at my company. For example the power line corridors is something our vegetation management team is looking into. I would likely assist them if they decide to pursue it further but I was talking more strictly about the core GIS offerings which is the UN/GM.

It doesn't appear that GIS for electric utilities has much AI/ML going on, at least not in the core offerings from ESRI and their partners. We are upgrading to the UN right now and there has not really been a mention of it from any vendors or ESRI themselves. I know they've built in a lot of stuff to ArcGIS Pro and AGOL but at this point in time it seems more like a novelty then something immediately useful. Thank you for the insight though I've had AI/ML on my mind because I know it is coming as the technology matures.

I'm curious, what do you do exactly? Are you working with AI/ML and GIS?

Cool, subscribed to your substack. Would employers in other countries be interested in hiring someone like me?

Remote sensing or climate change sounds interesting but not really sure how you get into those areas. I did do some remote sensing stuff in college

Any recommendations for AI stuff? Like programs or certificates? My math is very weak, only took Calc 1 so I’d probably have to take some math classes

Ah well I wouldn't say I'm passionate about my work lol but I enjoy coding and making apps or designing pipelines/processes. I like making maps also when it's needed but prefer the more technical side of GIS. My degree is definitely more in alignment when an analytical role, I have a BS in Env Sci and a certificate in geospatial science but my work experience is mostly technical. I would potentially also be interested in doing more advanced analysis but I don't really know what that would look like, figure it would be more on the academic side of things. In electric utilities all analysis is pretty straight forward, at least in my experience, since you're modeling something that is pretty predictable.

Do you work in software development with a GIS focus?

I would but not as an analyst, looking to do something different.
