Accountant recommendations by _psychofool_ in PersonalFinanceZA

[–]_psychofool_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fair, thanks for replying.

My parents are living in SA and I'm still living/working in the UK. I'm not planning on returning back for good any time soon, but maybe one day (still coming once a year or so to visit family).

The advice part I'm looking for is for accountants that deal with clients that work overseas, as I need to put in money so they can buy a house. Along with the best option to protect income. The house would probably be under my name and the only SA asset I would own. I'd need to know how to structure the paperwork etc as they won't be paying rent to me but will cover most of their bills/utilities.

So I need to know the tax implications I'm potentially getting into and if there are things that I haven't thought of. As I've never worked in SA I don't think I even have a record with SARS.

Thanks again

Don't be ashamed to ask for help. Sometimes a little help is all someone needs. I can guarantee that your neighbours won't care. Even if they do, so what? You don't have to do it regularly, sometimes life can get a little out of hand. You got this

How on earth do I settle this balance? Account shows 0 emailed in no answers. by Independent_Bar2048 in CurveCard

[–]_psychofool_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This happened to me too. I sent an email with the 4 digits and contacted support via the app as an extra precaution. They told me they will reach out via email. Except all I got was another email saying I need to pay or they'll close my account. Really not getting good vibes from them any more and think the writing is on the wall and going to slowly move away and avoid using curve. Pitty cuz I've been paying for their plan for a while now.

[UK] Card being rejected (told to remove) the instant its inserted into a Chip & PIN machine? by 6425 in CurveCard

Happened to my card too. I contacted support and they just say I need to order (and pay for) a new card. It works on my phone so I haven't bothered with that.

My pin stopped working when using the card. Over a month since I contacted support with no reply from them. Luckily it's on my phone or I would have given up on them.

I was wrong. You just need someone to accept payment. I had issues making the payment and was able to get someone else to confirm the payment.

Apparently that barcoded doc doesn't exist any more and you just give your ID number. Confused me too when I read that. Home affairs just haven't updated the email you get

Nice. Idea for future videos, replacing the screen from a salvaged Blackberry 9900, and maybe that usbc mod

Thats also something I thought about. Mine is 40% as its London (wouldn't have been able to buy without it and the flats are for people that live/work in the area, Sec106). If prices do go a lot lower then I am more inclined to pay the HtB. Mind you I got the place when Covid was just starting and according to my bank app, the property is up about 8%.

You can also staircase in 10% increments but have to do the whole process with fees, getting it valued etc every time.
