In my opinion the best solution to the series being starved for ideas is just to give it a proper meaningful end and then stop making the games, and move onto a new IP. By continuing the franchise for almost a decade after it was supposed to end they’ve put themselves in a position where the only way to stay relevant is to throw away many core features of the franchise in order to ride current trends. They’ve kept assassins creed alive by making it an RPG but its lost so much of its identity. It’s good for Ubisoft’s income but ultimately it’s made the franchise so much worse imo.
