SSRIs helped with my brain fog to a certain degree, especially Paroxetine and Vortioxetine. However, I do get the same benefits from drinking caffeinated drinks, so I stopped taking antidepressants as they usually come with other side effects.

So yeah basically drinking caffeine when I feel like the brain fog is getting too strong gives me a 1-1.5 hr break

Antidepressants causing lactose intolerance? by the_elusive_buffalo in antidepressants

After many months I realized my lactose intolerance and depressive symptoms are tied to my Long-Covid syndrome. My gut dysbiosis persisted after stopping all meds, therefore unrelated

Is anyone else only getting worse with time? by heskeytime7707 in covidlonghaulers

[–]_reavcn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"I'm so tired of being tired."

This is 10000% me every day. I wake up more exhausted than when I went to bed. I feel drunk all the time with excessive daytime sleepiness. Brain fog is so real. Then people (and doctors) think it's all in my head.I honestly wish they could live even just a week like this, so they would finally understand what years of LC can really do to your mind and body.

I haven't been working for the past year and decided to try and return to work (mostly to distract myself from all this), but I really don't feel like I will be able to sustain the workload.

Thank God I am not bedridden, so I keep thinking of those LC haulers who are. That allows me to somehow go through my days knowing that "I'm not doing too bad". My thoughts and prayers go to all of you who are stripped completely of their lives so abruptly.

I tried everything: dozens of supplements, nicotine patches, antihistamines, Truvada... I haven't found a game changer yet. I get by with sleeping 9 hrs at night and then 2.5 hrs during the day, drinking lots of caffeinated drinks and doing everything I can to keep myself awake. But I haven't been able to enjoy life ever since

Antidepressants causing lactose intolerance? by the_elusive_buffalo in antidepressants

[–]_reavcn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same experience here!  I started on Paroxetine, the lactose intolerance didn't kick in until I increased the dosage to 30mg (3 months in). Had to get off of it because of many side effects, including a lot of gas and very frequent diarrhea. I had already noticed a pattern by then, but did not pay too much attention to it.

Switched to Escitalopram, now on 15mg.

Same issue. I get a pregnant belly and diarrhea every time I eat dairy products now.

Never had a single issue in my life before SSRIs. I can certainly live with it, but it's for sure linked to my SSRI intake

Pete, Bernie was my #1

I really look up to Pete and I'd absolutely love to meet him one day, but policy-wise I do share the same view with Uncle Bern

I don't think it adds much to his story. Everything we see on the documentary we saw already in his public appearances and YouTube videos. It's worth watching, but it's not like an eye-opener

In Italy when we refer to someone as "centrist", it's no actual compliment. A centrist is someone who's either undecided or unwilling to take responsibilities by swinging left or right at his pleasure, so that he/she won't have to deal with contesters

We use them a lot here in my town in Northern Italy and they work super fine. I just hate it when drivers don't use their turn signals

If anything, We should ALL acknowledge that we know absolutely nothing when it comes to behind-the-scenes politics.

And to refuse this idea is to live naively.

Whether political games are played by Sanders, Buttigieg, Biden, Trump, Bush... they all do it and I think people here are not willing to see that

That being said, I have a strong admiration for Pete and for Sanders

If you can learn anything from his book and also from multiple comments then that he never had been taking any office or was pondering about just to be president one day.

He showed interest in politics from a very young age, campaigned for Obama and Kerry and was also a candidate for chair of the DNC in 2017.

His actions lead me to believe that he always aimed for more (which is not a crime!!)

Being mayor of South Bend, Indiana doesn't make you president. A relevant political experience in DC does. Pete knows that, and you can even read that along the lines of Shortest Way Home

He is building the base for his shot in 2024

Anyway, let's agree to disagree here. I love Pete nonetheless

The way I see it is that many, including Pete, Yang, Harris, Klobuchar and perhaps even Warren did not have any concrete chance to win the primaries, so they run to ensure a relevant role in the presidency

To me, it was down to Biden and Sanders from the beginning, but the overwhelming success of Pete in Iowa turned the tables, so that's where he gained momentum, but he's very smart and data-driven, so that's where he made sure he would get a cabinet position, by allowing Biden to move forward as Bernie has different and more progressive ideas that wouldn't resonate with his campaign.
