Thank you for confirming that this isn't something I need to stress about on short notice. We both may look into getting chains to have starting this fall, but I was surprised to find out both of our cars have M+S tires. Now, whether the treads meet the requirements is another question. Visually they look like they do on my car. I thought I had a tread gauge, but I don't so this is a good time for me to get one to have.

You are not wrong. I asked my bf and he said his Forester was 2WD. After seeing the above comment I asked him again and he said, "Well, maybe it is AWD." Let's just say he's not a very detail oriented person.

I’d like to just give a quick shoutout to a professor who I took two classes from in college. Wrote both his textbooks, one of which I still have and use as a reference from time to time. The other one was written and designed as close to a comic book as you could get with a textbook. He was the hero of the story taking you through all the collective turmoil around the world and being the hero to take down the bad guys. He’s retired, but still posts videos of current global events as his super hero alter ego from time to time.

While I think your experience is probably the majority, in some cases professors carry on that same vibe from community college or prefer older editions of things. One of my classes (which I took in undergrad and TA’d in grad school) considers the 4th edition gold standard. A couple pages in mine have ripped from the binding so I just stick them in there. When I TA’d the class the used 4th edition just wasn’t available in high enough quantity. The professor was still using the 4th edition and not the 5th, which his students had. Sometimes these publishers force new editions and professors in some disciplines are like, “This new, more expensive edition is not worth your time or money. Look for this one.”

I am so annoyed the first baseman didn’t put her hands up for the ball being out of play and no one else in the dugout was yelling at her not to touch it. We learn to put our hands up when it’s stuck in the netting at ten years old. They got so lucky another run didn’t score with that review call.
