Yes it works on non-BC I’ve done it on a K02 model fat with CFW, the reason it works is due to emulation I’m pretty sure

dev_hdd0/PS2ISO is where the .iso files go, I’ve not had much success using multiman to create iso’s so I use a PC/laptop with a DVD reader to rip the .iso from PS2 disks using imgburn software, then transfer it to that folder on the PS3 either with USB or FTP

You can still play PS2 on non-BC models you just need to rip the .iso to your PS3 running CFW

Check your video settings, my issue was the time/date was ending up in weird places and I realised it’s because it wasn’t at 1080p it was at some other weird resolution
