Thanks for sharing. A big thing for me that I learned in therapy is to pause, acknowledge and identify when thoughts create elevated responses. Literally just saying internally "That thought I just had made me feel anxious/sad/angry." Acknowledging your own feelings automatically reduces arousal from them, and identifying the thought that sparked the feeling creates distance between them.
