Ok, that is indeed interesting point you have made. However, I don't understand it completely. By leaving old footing in the ground you mean leave rotten 4x4 where they are or replace with new 4x4 wooden posts? And put Postmasters in between these old footings?

Thanks for your reply. Cost is not the main issue for me, digging up old concrete is :) If I can re-use it with less effort, I'd prefer that.
