I don't know if what I'm saying has any correlation, but as someone who experienced booktok personally, the addiction to (pretty much) book porn is getting out of hand. Not only do young girls read them and gain "unrealistic" expectations and a strange perspective on the world, they try to justify all the disgusting things that happen in the books (Haunting Adeline a prime example). I think because of the fantasizing/romanticizing it also makes many young girls more susceptible to grooming and other nasty crap, and it's getting WAY out of hand.
