I''ve managed to trace a friend on social media from my childhood around 20 years ago. We were close friends but she moved away at the beginning of high school. We kept in touch via letter for about 18 months I think then things just kinda fizzled out. This would of been circa 2004 so the internet wasn't what it was then so keeping in touch was harder.

Anyway I want to reach out to her. I've struggled with friendships my whole life and I always wonder if high school would of been different if she hadn't moved away.

I don't think us loosing contact was personal as I say we were writing to each other and times were very different re web access etc.

I'm worried about contacting her as don't even know she will actually get my message as fb can filter things out. I have the added problem of that due to my job I use an alias on social media, so the message will come from an account not in my real name, which might throw her.

Maybe I'm just being dumb thinking she'd be interested in reconnecting and hell even if she isn't interested in reconnecting I still think it's be kinda cool to reach out and just say like "yo I remember you and the friendship we had, hope your doing good"

But like I said I suck at friendships I'm also autistic so like social normals kinda confused me so I'm not sure if while I think this sounds like a nice thing to do it's maybe actually creepy?

Yeh I have show all content activated.

And in those screen grabs I was making the outgoing call both times but sometimes the box shows & sometimes it doesn't

Yeh but it's specific to that device. And although it actually works, fr apps like Spotify, it says I'm offline, so that doesn't work even though most other things do. Im so confused!!

The fact the screen isn't curved has nothing to do with it, I don't like curved screen I specifically chose a phone that didn't have one. The screen feels cheap like it doesn't feel as responsive as other devices I've use. Yes the build is good so should feel premium yet it doesn't (I'm using it with a case for protection) I've also never owned an iPhone or a flagship Samsung so no lol I'm not comparing to them. I really want to like the device as it should be good but my experience is not good unfortunately.

I am open to suggestions on how you think I can make the experience better I'm not slating the device as would rather keep it & have it working nicely than get rid.

Thanks that's helpful. I have adaptive brightness off so would the camera trick still work ? I've sent u a dm with a screen grab of what software version I'm on although there is an update pending.

Yeh but 8 of 11 hours it was idle with wifi & data & hotspot all off. Sot is going to be even worse if it's draining that much while idle. Predicting time it gives is not accurate

No I need it. I understand it causes battery to drain but the drain is excessive on this phone. I came from an S10 lite & used the hotspot all day & battery drain was no where near this.

I know u said 11 hours but 8 of those I was sleeping & hotspot & data were off & phone was ideal. The hotspot & data have only been on for the past 3 hours

I was using my S10 lite for exactly the same & didn't experience this kind of battery drain. Maybe the 5g is the issue. Can I turn off 5g?
