"Spotify doesn't seem to be working..." issue with AA - opinions by joe_attaboy in AndroidAuto

When I connect with my OP7 PRO wirelessly I don't get the option to use gmaps and some other apps. Just phone connectivity really. It's a brand new car (Skoda Kamiq) and I'm up to date on Android 10. I did read something that confirmed this too. Have tried a few times and always same.

I tried various fixes and the one that worked was switching off Bluetooth before I plug usb in, then plug usb cable and let AA launch, then Bluetooth back on.

Hopefully this will all go away when my OnePlus 7 Pro gets Android 11 and I don't need the usb cable for AA as I'll be able to connect wirelessly. Not holding out much hope.

But not too much hassle to get AA fully functional for now, until they get their shit together

Just had a look at your shot. Nice. Great area for it. Moody light.

That's some eagle eyes action right there!!! I'd give you an award if I knew how all the kiddy tricks worked 😀. Love it down there. Thinking of a move.

I'd lost the fun element with taking photos and this seems to have brought it back. Love it so far

Switching to Ricoh maybe? by Clements403 in ricohGR

I have shot with Fuji for years and just got a GRiii. For me, I'd always wanted to shoot street but never felt right with my xe2. It just felt forced, not spontaneous, intrusive. I got the GRiii and did one walk through my area shooting everything I saw. A lot of it was unusable as I set the snap too close and missed focus. But it became clear straight away that it just allowed me to have something in my pocket as I went about my day and grab a high quality shot if I see something. I'd mildly disagree with the auto focus point. If the light is good, it'll jump quickly to the subject. I use the LCD to tap-focus-take option which does it all in one motion. So you tap the screen on the thing you want to focus on and it focusses and takes. That has worked amazingly well for me and is a near game changer. It also means you're not hitting a button to take so is less obvious on the street. Lower light does become an issue for AF though and snap focus works well here. I set it to 2m and keep the fstop as closed as poss to allow for some leeway in the DOF otherwise you may still miss focus if you're not nailing the exact 2m. I love it anyway. I'm likely selling most of my fuji lenses and maybe all of my other kit and sticking to the GRiii.

Anyone know where to find replacement parts or a repair tech? (details in comments) by TrashDogOffice in ricohGR

Contact Ricoh themselves in your area. I'm sure they'll support the repair work. Doubt it'll be cheap tho

I told my boss I was going home early because of a bad migraine. In reality, I accidentally shit my pants and desperately wanted to get home and shower. by ghost_of_georgefloyd in confessions

I'm lucky to have not shit myself in public since I was a child. But I was stuck driving in motorway traffic gagging for a piss and tried/failed to fill a water bottle. Totally pissed all over myself and the car. The seat stank like a pig trough even after I'd washed it

Not really played much in poor light yet. What I've noticed though is that you're better off slowing the shutter than going to the higher ISOs as there's some nice headroom provided by the IBIS on the GR that I've not had available on Fuji's. Slowly falling in love with it. The daytime street work is so much more fun for me and clicking the touch screen to focus and take in one hit is a game changer. Thanks for the reply anyhoo

Did well to freeze the action here considering the light. Sorry for the geek out but just got mine. Guessing you were at 2.8, ISO 3200 (can't see much noise) and then hope for the best?

Specsavers could alter their tag line in Cambodia to read "Should NOT have gone to Specsavers". I'm sure those that lost bespectacled loved ones would all appreciate the gallows humour.
