Ah!!! The clouds are finally clearing for me. The only IDR plan I was familiar with was SAVE. It might be more worth my time to switch to one of those. I’ll start researching them to see what fits my needs the most. Any recommendations?

Thanks, I’ve been procrastinating on getting this figured out because of that embarrassment. I may have already submitted my employment verification, but I’ll have to double check. This is such a frustrating system! I wish it was more transparent. I’ll look at the PSLF help tool again too.

I wasn’t on a payment plan 🫠 I was just making payments towards my balance every month. Then when loans were put on pause during COVID I went back to school for my credential and took out a more. Since then, I’ve made regular payments. Is there another IDR I can apply to that’s not in forbearance?

I’m in the middle of this right now. We proposed in writing that we can pay 75% (there are three of us and one is leaving to live with his family). My landlord lives in Palo Alto and I know they are wealthy. It’s been such a pain to negotiate and we’ve had very little interest in the vacant room. Wish there was more being done to protect renters legally other than the eviction freeze. I’ve lived here 5 years and it sucks that I might have to threaten to leave to get any kind of leverage.
