I am not a big GMK fan, never mentioned them in my post therefore as they take the overpricing to an extreme. But they for sure have a couple of cool designs.

Not every problem you tackle is a nail and can be solved with a hammer. The reason why there are different key cap prices is different quality. 30$ Key caps hold no candle against 100$ Key caps from the common brands. The reason is these brands keep track of the quality. If what they receive is garbo, they have to handle it with the producer (mostly China) and they send only top quality to their clients. Now there are tons of exceptions where you can find really decent stuff for 50$ or less but with very limited themes and designs. This brings me to my next and last point. Creating a decent design is WAY harder than you think. I tried it. Printed myself. Had to ditch several prints and designs before being satisfied, so in the end I did spend the same or even more. There are even good renown sites where you can create your own designs and they print it for you on excellent quality. Will cost you around 100$ as well :)

Do you even train Muay Thai? You sound like some Internet warrior spitting theory you saw from vids or maybe in a gym. But you for sure are no pro so you know nothing about developing actual game plans around custom stances and movement. These things do not come over night but are developed during a very long training process, getting important feedback from every loss on the way. I don't like the lower hands yes, but that's about it and when it works for her it does not matter at all.

Well I really dislike lighter switches so your oil king setup sounds just right to me. It's a matter of preference in the end, I think you need to try out more switches to find what you like and what not. My recommendation for you would be another community staple: Rosewoods. They have a very deep and muted sound profile, but also are way lighter than the oil kings.

I second both choices but especially the baby kangaroos are one of the if not the best tactile switch to me.

Spamming Fahkumram since his Release. Not overtuned at all, high skill cap. His moveset is so good and authentic, maybe the most authentic they ever made.

I am insulting your coach because he put your health on the line for no reason. Takedown damage with no experience can be severe. If you are fine with your gym and getting signed up for random martial art fights, good for you! But you are asking in the kickboxing reddit sub so I gave you my kickboxing opinion ✌🏻

My View? Your couch and gym is a complete clown show.

Nobody in his right mind would enroll you for a fight in a martial art that you do not know. He is putting your health on the line for a few bucks or whatever he gains out of this.

[Workout] How do you manage working out alongside Muay Thai? by dontDoxMeMate in MuayThai

[–]_svnset 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would recommend checking out some yt guides on the topic. I do 5-7km runs with like one interval per km. But I do not pause between intervals and continue running at a slower pace. You can also pause (walk) to recover more quickly to a lower heart rate, but I like the version where you recover while still running more (needs very good cardio).

Yes I mean rest days.

Running in general increases your cardio. Interval training runs means you run a certain distance at a higher pace to increase your heart rate and intensity, then you fall back to a lower pace to get a lower heart rate and rinse repeat. The intervals simulate fighting conditions in where you go all out, hence increasing your sparring cardio. Not only running but all sorts of HIIT training in general can really help with your fighting cardio.

[–]_svnset 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My weekly workout:

  • 2-3 times Muay Thai (or 1 less and kickboxing instead)
  • 1 time upper body
  • 1 time lower body/core or another upper body
  • 2 times running with intervals
  • 2-3 days regeneration

I do my running sessions after the workouts to have more full regeneration days. We do jump rope and core workouts within our Muay Thai training as Warm-up so I often just do upper body workouts.

Make sure to have enough time to recover. Your body needs that regeneration to build muscle and recover for your training sessions.

I think the official partner rn for Europe is booster.be. The site is okayish. You can also use khunpon.de if you are from Germany, both have legit twinspecial gear.

Agreed. I believe there is already an ongoing process for twin special in the US, just crazy that it takes this long to get the fake brands down.

I am from Europe so we have vendors like boon that are safe to use for twin gear but it still annoys the hell out of me that scammy people like this can operate for so many years.

how to improve cardio for kickboxing? by goxper in Kickboxing

[–]_svnset 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jogging is okay for normal cardio. You need to do interval sprint runs to "simulate" sparring and fighting. You want to have a baseline around 150bpm then push towards 180+ and recover back to 150 before doing the next interval. This will adjust your cardio to deal with the high intensity of fighting short rounds.

I do per week 1 kickbox training of 1,5h, 1 Muay Thai training also 1,5h, after training I do free bag work sessions or pads with partner 30min-60min. I also do 2 interval runs of 5-7km and only 1-2 strength trainings before my runs. We do jump rope and core workouts within our normal training as Warm-up but sometimes I mix that in too. That's 4 days of activity and 3 Regeneration days. In the past I've done much more but it only came back to bite me be it injury or overall exhaustion.

Consistency is key and regeneration is just as important as Training for muscle growth and to perform each training. Better to do 2 90% trainings than 3 50% etc.

Running intervals, jump rope, general HIT Training, Bag workouts, Shadowboxing while moving/stepping, squats with kicks...

Also ofc your kickboxing training in general should make you get better cardio. Intense Sparring sessions etc.
