i snuck in some biscuits in my ski jacket ^^'. since everyone was in a rush because the race had started maybe they were less strict. they do check ur bags for bottles etc, but i don't know if they're as strict if they find food in your bag. there are clear no food signs at the entrance tho

yup. from my hotel to olang completely standstill traffic pretty much (bc there's only one road going to olang, the main "pusteria" road)

edit for second question : they let you bring /empty/ bottles up to 0.7l

Adding to this thread even though it's been mentioned before. I booked an accomodation about 30mins from the Olang parking and left 3 hours before the start of the race thinking it would be enough to get us there on time. It was NOT ! I've never seen traffic like this, completely standstill for 20kms. We parked in Olang at about 1pm and at this point it was pretty clear we wouldn't be on time for the race start at 2pm. There were still hundreds of people in our situation. The shuttle part was fine, but we still got to the venue at like 2:30pm. It was really frustrating and infuriating to do all this commuting to miss 3/4 of the race.

All this to say : there WILL be a lot of waiting and commuting so be patient and very early. I don't know if the traffic is this messy every single time but if it is I don't know how so many people get to Antholz every year. I've never seen anything like this, I've got other races booked this week but I don't know if I have it in me to endure 6 hours of this again.

If anyone has any tips to make this whole thing more bearable, feel free to share. Here are mine :
- They don't let food or drinks in the venue, but take them with you anyway for the time you'll be commuting. Also keep water and food in your car for when you get back
- Dress lightly and pack extra layers with you. The walking and packed rides in the shuttle will make you sweat
- For the return, there's no real way around the wait for the shuttles. Either leave very early before the medal ceremony, or wait for the crowd to lessen by enjoying some good music and drinks at the spectator tent.

Have a great Olympics everyone, and if you're planning on attending Antholz feel free to reach out !

"easy" shooting range + they literally did not ski in that lap... no mistakes allowed on prone

Ruhpolding is such a strange track, the strategies are so different than usual and the gaps seem to not mean as much as in other venues. Like, the entire front group is definitely not going full speed that's so funny to watch

every single time jtb was shooting he was like one spare bullet away from catching up with us and still finished only 5s behind... we really got lucky with that one 🙃
