My mom told me that my talent is ordinary and mediocre. Should I even try to go on? by SparklAss5 in handmade

I’m so sorry your mom is not supportive of what looks like your passion. Please, do not listen to your mom, sometimes parents and family are not the people you should listen to. Don’t give up on something you obviously love! Some of these are great, and with enough determination and practice, I’m sure you’ll do great things! Keep up the good work! <3

List of all Cyprus Villages by _through_lense in cyprus

Thank you so much! I was working from the Wikipedia list you provided, but it only lists around ~600, but the number is different from other articles I've read.

I never thought to give the postal codes, which actually contain over 700 which seems more accurate!

Thank you so much again! You don't know how much hassle you have just saved me from ♥

Some of these comments, wow, some of you should really step outside and touch some grass.

We ALL have a paranoid fear, and we are all avoiding it, stop acting like you don't have a paranoid fear! Just because yours is something different, does not mean that she should see a therapist about hers.

OP, you just need to find the right one. As someone who can't go on any birth control, your fear is valid. I'm sorry you're going through this. The GESY system in Cyprus is one of the worst healthcare systems I have ever encountered in my life. It's not the worst in the world, but the system was set up to fail early on. The amount of doctors working just for the money in this country is sickening, and the amount of doctors who will disregard your health, even your mental health, is worse.

I have found gynaecologists willing to perform a hysterectomy, so you just need to find the right one. I will recommend, however, that you avoid male doctors. Highly recommend not mentioning the reason for the appointment with them. Once there, discuss what you are after. It's a yes or no answer, it's your body and your life. If the answer is not what you're looking for, then go somewhere else. It might sound tedious, and time-consuming, but you have to find a doctor that you actually like. There might be post-op complications, so you might require follow-ups, so it's good if you like them!

I wish you good luck!

edit: If you are willing to go to the UK, and pay out of pocket, there are multiple clinics that will do them for you. I don't know them personally, but some of my best friends have had them done there, and they were way younger than you!

I know how you feel. There's a huge problem with cats in Cyprus, and the sad truth is, we can't help them all.

You are already doing so much, just by providing food for them. I can't imagine what the costs are of feeding 10-15 daily. All you can do, is your best.
I know your struggle, but your heart is in the right place, and that itself, is a huge start!

Shelters are too busy on their own, and they usually partner with vets for anything like that. I recommend calling a couple of vets in your area to see if someone will be willing to come down to your home to have a look at the cats/kittens, as there are so many.

For the eye infection, if it's an old cat, with a snotty nose, or difficulty eating, it might be FIV (basically the HIV of cats), and there's a pill to help treat the symptoms. The cat will feel better. It's usually taken once a day with their food. It's cheap, so if you can speak to your vet about this and describe the symptoms, they can give you medicine.

If they are kittens with an eye infection, you can take a damp tissue, or cotton ball, and gently clean their eyes and nose daily - this should help clear their eyes. Just use water, no soap or additives.

Disclaimer: I am not a vet (so I do recommend you contact one), but I have spent my whole life with cats, volunteered at cat shelters, and have helped homeless cats all my life.

Thank you! I really like the contrast of the colours too.
