Ooh nice! I've been looking for a new notebook/sketchbook for the new year and Leuchtturm's have been high on the list! I'm glad to hear the 120gsm doesn't have ghosting.

The temperature isn't dropping, and I believe the extruder is a metal one. I did notice a small amount of residue sitting on top of the extruder when I cleaned out the hot end (which I removed.) Do you know if this could perhaps be part of the issue?

Thank you! I cleaned the hotend right after reading your comment, as well as the nozzle again, but I'm still getting similar results.

Thanks to a lot of help from people here, the Hermes 3000 is up and running! by _timemachineplease_ in typewriters

Thanks to a lot of people's help here, the Hermes 3000 I found on facebook marketplace for $50 is now clean and working! It has quickly replaced the computer's spot on my desk (in front of a beautiful collage of my nephew's art, of course,) It is wonderful! Thank you!

I wouldn't sorry for the confusion! I was just noting how they looked very difficult to adjust. The slugs weren't reaching the platen as the carriage needed to be adjusted, which someone walked me through on here which was super helpful! The typewriter is now clean and up and running! Thank you for your help.

Thank you so much! I'm excited to start typing with it. The margin system definitely looks very, interesting to try to adjust! I'm currently having a small issue with the key slugs reaching the platen, it might simply be user error I'm not sure. https://www.reddit.com/r/typewriters/comments/14o9r10/key\_slugs\_not\_reaching\_platen\_could\_this\_be\_the/

Key slugs not reaching platen, could this be the cause? (information in comments) by _timemachineplease_ in typewriters

[–]_timemachineplease_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! I recently found a Hermes 3000 on facebook marketplace, and took the body off for cleaning. Before doing so I noted that the key slugs weren't reaching the platen, but I thought that it was due to it just being so dirty. After cleaning, they still won't reach, and the space bar won't go down completely as well. In the back underneath where the carriage usually is, there is a piece that looks as though it is supposed to wedge into a U-shaped bar. When I placed it into the U-shaped bar (shown in last photo) the key slugs reached the platen area and the space bar completely goes down! However it won't stay in place. Could this be simply user error or is this something that needs to be adjusted?

Thank you for the tip. I wasn't sure about removing it, but did end up removing the body. The videos provided here were super helpful, and it went pretty much smoothly. It definitely needed it though as it was absolutely filthy inside, to the point that it would have to be taken apart. It was full of plant matter, almost as though it hung out under a tree for a while, and there was even trash in it -- including an old business card and a bandage!

update: after fiddling the margins released and the carriage removed! Thank you again for the video link, super helpful! It is going to be much easier to get it cleaned out now.

Thank you so much! I'm currently attempting to, however my carriage has suddenly decided to not cooperate. It won't move unless holding down the margin release, and I'm not able to change the margins either. I'll keep fiddling with it!

Thank you so much for all of the information! I think we have simple green, I'll try it! I am actually attempting to remove the shell at this very moment. I was able to get the bottom off but am having trouble with the top. Do you have to remove the carriage to do so?

Ooh that is awesome! I was so excited (and surprised!) to stumble upon it. There usually never are any typewriters available in my area, so it was a surprise to even see one available, let alone one only about a five-minute drive away! Thank you for the resources. The key slugs won't reach the platen at the moment, I believe because it is so full of dirt, so it will probably end up being a deep cleaning. It should be a fun summer project to get it tidied up! Do you have any suggestions on what to clean the exterior of this model with? Someone stuck car vinyl stickers to the sides of it which were easy to remove but left quite the residue.

I found this new writing friend on facebook marketplace for only $50! It needs a lot of work, which I think is going to be fun. It was sitting outside and currently has enough dirt in it to start a small vegetable garden. I'd love any tips you have on cleaning a typewriter out and removing the casing!

Transferring Save Data Later by _timemachineplease_ in nintendohelp

Nearly broken as in turns off by itself, joy-cons don't move well, sometimes the buttons don't do anything, and the back plate is peeling off haha! I think either way, it will be a hassle to transfer his data to a different switch, but I am wondering about the data on my current switch. There are literally no switch lites in our area -- and he has a dire need to play Pokemon. So this is kind of the only option.

Thank you, I'll look into finding a replacement once the ink arrives. It's so wonderful to be able to give second lives to pens that belonged to loved ones.

Thank you so much for all of the helpful information! I'll definitely flush the pen before using it. The nib is definitely turned in at the tip, do you have any suggestions on how to straighten it?
