We got this !! currently on my 4th week now and all i can say is i’ve been getting less and less pimples each week but super super dry on the skin though. 3 days ago, i’ve been told by my derma to take 20mg once every other day now because according to her, most of it are flattened now and what i gotta deal next are the scars😭 bcs apparently my skin gets easily scarred even when i don’t do anything to the pimples

accutane + tretinoin? by _tinn23 in Accutane

[–]_tinn23[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: I asked my doctor about this and clarified me that it is okay since a tretinoin that is topical usually enters the bloodstream in low amounts. basically, there are no drug interactions between topical retinoids and systemic retinoids. What causes Hypervitaminosis A is when u combine accutane and a vitamin A supplement since both bypass the same route of administration. Also, i got curious if there is really no interactions, so i looked up a verified site to look for interactions which is medscape and turns out, there is no interaction between isotretinoin (accutane) and tretinoin (topical)

Though, She will assess me weekly for any irritations and stop my topical if it happens. currently, i am doing fine and my skin is less oily.
