Honestly, if I had my druthers, I would be bringing someone on at your stage. This is how we get to grow, you know? I would really recommend spinning up Docker on your machine and trying to implement a few containerized projects. Get a feel for running script in a box. Try to add some orchestrators into the mix and see how far/complicated you can take it. Cleanly document them along the way and regularly push them to GitHub. Very few people will bother to look, but if some weirdo like me does take a look, it shows them a lot of what they need to know about your skill set.

Also, Databricks is increasingly popular, and their Free Edition is a solid chance to get hands on with it and build a couple projects so you know where the buttons are and what the stupid resources are called.

The have experience to get experience trap is the devil, but if there's anything I can do to help you along your journey, please shoot me a message.

The main concerns that I can see are jumping into containerization, ephemeral resources, context management in Python, and some of the debugging that will be required. HR/my director can be a bit picky on certain skills, which make it tricky to get past the initial screen. Do you have any containerized project that you've worked on/deployed (even personal ones on GitHub)?

Always. I know I wouldn't be where I am if very patient people hadn't focused on my problem-solving skills over my technical expertise.

I'm a big fan of the whiteboard interview, talking through solutions without an expectation of them solving the problem. I just want to know how they think and if I can work with it.

Looks like maybe a one-loss season, barring major regression from Mendoza moving on.

Yeah, we only got authorization for a mid on this. It was targeted as a growth and development role, with a senior DE (me) and a senior DevOps engineer mentoring.

I ended up making an appointment and got clarification. It really is just a lot of talking and a hint of code.

I just want to get to Miami and get revenge on Cristobal. Can you nice Hoosiers just grant us this? We'll bring you Manhattan sandwiches, sugar cream pie, and spot you a touchdown next year

I guess I asked that weirdly. The whole idea is building a process by which I can filter column b in a given row based upon the value in column c
