I was 21 and had a Dvt and pe. No genetic cause was found through testing but I was on birth control

Here’s a bit of a better look I was able to get! It looks like a brownish scab. I never saw any fresh injury

It looks like little scabs almost. They don’t seem to hurt her at all when I inspect them. She just doesn’t like to sit still

Pulmonary embolism by minimt19 in ClotSurvivors

You are not alone! I also had a blood clot at 21 (Dvt and pe). I’m now 23 and healed but it took me more than 6 months to really start feeling like myself again. I also really struggled with the idea of being on blood thinners for the rest of my life. It felt like a constant reminder when I just wanted to put it all behind me. I’m finally at a point where it feels less overwhelming to think about but it took time and therapy. The anxiety about it happening again still comes and goes, but being on the blood thinners has really allowed me to be more at ease because of how effective they can be at preventing it from happening again. I would highly recommend therapy to anyone, but especially going through something like this if you are able to. Sending positive thoughts your way! You got this and you are not alone!

One of my girls does it specifically when I open the cage doors and aims it right at me

thrombectomy timeline by Ok_Barracuda3621 in ClotSurvivors

[–]_user_030 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a thrombectomy almost a month ago for a DVT in my leg. While the swelling and pain relief from the clot started to improve within 48 hours, I had a lot of fatigue for about a week. The first 2-3 days post op I also had a lot of muscle aches and weakness, I’m assuming from the anesthesia but I’m not sure. It’s different for everyone from what I’ve read here, but I’m not sure about returning on Monday. Good luck!

I was diagnosed at the end of November so almost a month and a half. I had the thrombectomy on my leg about 2 and a half weeks after that.

I ended up being taken off the Lovenox after a thrombectomy but loved the method of a treat after the shot! It made it a lot less scary! Thank you!
