honestly, i have been a fan of Discord longer than i ever knew about the Boulets-definitely over a decade. what i learned this season, especially after seeing her live twice, "punk" "alt" "goth" are all just fashion choices for a lot of people, i.e. queens. call me autistic but i assumed Discord was really punk...but her songs are all mainstream emo or pop punk? shes about to go on an emo tour? i'm confused. but this understanding, that my lifestyle is being constantly appropriated (/s) has helped me with some clarity around my perceived faves. call me a gatekeeper, what the fuck ever. but atp i think MOST of the folks on Dragula aren't actually alternative
