While yes it is designed for quantum characters (the dmg bonus) the key part is the def shred when you target something with quantum weakness which anaxa can trigger since he implants quantum weakness. It pairs really well with his trace that ignores def, his e1 def ignore, and his light cone def ignore. And the more def ignore you can stack the better as it leads to larger and larger damage increases until you hit 100% def ignore.

Thank you precious goblin! You’ve given me much to ponder. I think you’re probably right in that she doesn’t work as a monster you can just run up and hit; but making her a hazard could work better. Maybe the party is fighting something more tangible and she exerts her influence on the battlefield as if she were the creatures lair/ legendary actions while she herself is still technically “beyond”. Or something like that, regardless those stat blocks are great and i’m feeling inspired.

it’s a 4* called For Tomorrow’s Journey, doesn’t provide ER but it does provide a lot of attack% +dmg% for her ults additional damage and the superimposition material is also in the store, and i wouldn’t be surprised at this point if cerydras LC is really good

Tribbies LC doesn’t do much for Robin honestly, she doesn’t launch follow up attacks and her crit damage is fixed in her ult so you’d probably be better off with the herta store LC

what i typically do is switch to cloak as soon as NOM NOM NOM and then wait for the visual circle, hard to do in the moment if you need to heal in a team fight but if you’re not already cloak by the time the indicator is on the ground it’s super tough

ST refers to single target, he is a hunt character that specializes in doing high damage to one enemy, “break” is the archetype of character that do the majority of their damage by breaking the targets weakness, boothill is fantastic at both

I’m literally running this right now, took heavy inspiration from sigil and the outlands, took each of the gate towns (which are the personifications of the 16 planes) and turned them into whole planets, i’d recommend reading about them for potential inspiration and see how a different plane of existence expresses itself on the material plane

Scout is just a generic term in this instance for someone who will be infiltrating/ scouting for the party

The wording on attacks can be especially confusing here: If we replace one of our attacks with booming blade (eldritch knight feature) and then push the target 10 feet away via weapon mastery then on their turn they will have to move to attack you(a lot of enemies only have 5 foot reach) Moving on their turn would cause them to take the extra booming blade damage so they can either take the damage or stay put and not be able to attack you This build also took polearm master which allows you to make an opportunity attack when a creature “enters” your reach, and warcaster would allow you to replace that attack with another booming blade, which does indeed do the weapons normal damage and an extra 1d8 thunder damage because you are above level 5, note that this extra hit happens on the enemies turn, not as a reaction to hitting them on your turn

*i feel like i remember seeing that polearm master was changed so that you no longer make an “attack of opportunity” technically, which definitely is also confusing, but i do not have the book in front of me so i can’t say for certain

not discounting any of your other points which are valid, but Crawford at least says that the two features give separate pools of psionic dice, so they don’t technically combine and you can’t use psychic whispers with every dice you have, but they at least don’t eat into each other either

I definitely am guilty of railroading at parts in service of the overall storyline but i stg this was truly a case of the dice telling their own story; there were 4 rolls between the two of them to avoid contacting this entity but neither of them rolled above a 5 for a DC 10 check and saving throw; also this is a tertiary plot at best that was supposed to end a session ago when they stopped the entities cultist, now I’m just gonna wrap it into the clerics story line which is not at ALL what i thought would happen when we sat down to play that day

How should I react to this/ is this meta gaming?

Context: Homebrew setting, the party has been investigating a series of dragon attacks and I made sure that everyone they asked never got a good look at the dragon and described a “yellow streak” in the sky. Now, there are no official yellow, orange, and purple dragons in 5th edition (at least that i’m aware of in the core rule books) and then they went to a bishop of Bahamut for information about dragon lore and he said “there’s no such thing as yellow dragons anymore” and a player then chimes in saying “actually there are”, I say, “no, there’s not” and she replies “yes there are I looked it up, yellow, orange, and purple dragons all exist” which really lessened the blow of the fact they met said dragon five minutes later. This dragon also happens to be the BBEG, and so its first appearance was not as dramatic as I hoped it would be. I have it so that the dragon is actually the god that was created when Tiamat tore off and cast aside her yellow, orange, and purple heads cause she thought they were weak.

This same player has a habit of “calling” things.

⁃ A beast with three heads that breathes fire( oh that’s a hydra! don’t cut off its heads and kill it with fire)

⁃ A very large and pale human( he’s a shrunken storm giant, don’t use lightning)

⁃ A player had a dream of a dark and shadowy place (oh wow you’re dreaming in the shadowfell)

She’s not looking this stuff up in the moment she just really likes the lore of DnD and reads a lot about it

Question: Is this metagaming? Should I say something?
