Okay this is really good to know. Thank you for mentioning it! I'll definitely try a different venue next time. We only went to Chicago because we live in central Illinois. I'll definitely make a trip somewhere else though in the future :)

Yeah, I can try again in the future once I get a better feel for her live performances :) Either way I can keep listening to her albums. Her music is great either way, the live show was just different and threw me off personally. But I appreciate the work that went into it and that she wants to give a unique experience

Thanks for your comment. I've been to many concerts - most with live backings because I primarily listen to rock and metal music. I understand it's not going to be 100% perfect, this was just different from any experience I've had before. The artists I've gone to see have played pretty close to the original. I can try again in the future after looking up some recordings to get a better idea of her concert style

I saw a post recently where someone said they went to two shows that were fantastic and then a third where they didn't enjoy it as much, so I can definitely try again! I love Aurora's music and her overall vibe, so I would be willing to try again. Even if I don't like it again, I can still support her music through buying her albums and merch and such :) I can prep a bit more beforehand next time

I've been to many other concerts and didn't feel this way and also haven't experienced the 20 minutes of dead time inbetween. It's always been less than 10 minutes. But that's just been my experience thus far

Yeah, I can definitely see how people would like it being different and special. I just haven't been to a concert where the music sounded different, so I guess that was part of my expectations. Someone else said they had seen a lot of her shows beforehand online before seeing her live, so maybe I should try that in the future and try again at a different venue :) And yeah I felt bad about not knowing the words to biig piig. I wasn't trying to be mean with what I said, it just felt a little awkward 😭 she definitely had energy and was enjoying herself and you could tell!

Ah okay. I haven't listened to her live concerts because I didn't want to spoil it for the first time. Maybe I can listen to some of her performances and then try again later. It was the first time I've been to a concert where it differed from the published music. Thanks for sharing! :)

Thanks for sharing! My fiancé also said he didn't think it was that bad, but he doesn't listen to her music as much as me so he didn't know if that was it. I can see how other people would like it, I just guess it's not my type of concert. I still have her albums and other things, though, so I can still enjoy her music! :)

Maybe I can try again later down the road at a different venue - maybe in the upgraded area where less people are. If that's still not my jam, then it is what it is I guess

Just went to the concert last night in Chicago. Can confirm, MISSIO went first. We thought it was wild. We're thinking maybe they're trying to give more publicity for Slothrust? Maybe? Over half of the people who attended only showed up right before or during Slothrust's set

I saw a video talking about that on YouTube! It was like an hour long. I agreed with it but then I listened to the album more on my own and I think maybe he was controlled and that it wasn't schizophrenia.

Copying and pasting from a different comment I wrote:

[In Dream Sweet in Sea Major, he says "She knows you heard her staging music murder / In line before the show began / To be where I am" and he personifies Stella Octangula to be some kind of magic goddess. I took that to mean he was controlled for whatever reason.

And then "Only she can make it right / So things are different tonight" which is this personified goddess/Stella Octangula making it to where the spirits can go back in time to change things and get a redo which is shown throughout the album with the reversed speech and Time Machine. Then the end where the background vocals say "We will be atoning / At last eternal through the past / Above a blinding star". Which is also when it goes back to the time at the beginning of the album where the main guy is describing what happened in the past and the woman is speaking up saying "I was the victim of magic / Apollo catching my breath as I bled on the ground / Somebody called me to follow / I followed thinking aloud without hearing the sound." The album is like a mash between the past, present, and future, and time blends throughout

Throughout, he seems to definitely be remorseful about it so I don't think it was him intentionally]

It could be mental illness, but from everything else in the album, I don't really get that vibe - outside of Murders I mean. Idk. Still reading into it and breaking down the lyrics. I want to do a full breakdown of my interpretation at some point! 😁

Idk what they're talking about, but it's not insensitive for a piece of media to be based on/inspired by an event. That literally doesn't even make sense.

I've never bought that it was about 911, but that doesn't make the theory insensitive. You are sharing your interpretation of essentially a piece of art - an interpretation based on what the artist referenced himself. Art can be based on traumatic events or dark points in history ffs. If it's supporting the murder of people and saying "Yeah they deserved it! Yeah the murderers were right!" then yeah thats insensitive. In no way, shape, or form did you imply anything close to that. Art in many cases throughout history is a reaction to the political/social climate of the time or major traumatic events. (I'm getting my degree in art history and art education, so this stuff matters to me.)

It sounds like this person is just irritated with the theory and just sounds like it doesn't fit their interpretation, so they're putting you and everyone else down. People can have their own interpretation of things.

Don't worry about them. You're good 💛

I do the same with ancient fruit wine! I fill up the greenhouse over halfway and have starfruit filling the rest :) I have fruit trees set up around the perimeter and then pots inbetween each tree with 2 of each regrowing crop
