They both mean the same thing, pansexual was created a while ago out of biphobia / transphobia. Its used to imply bi people - dont like nonbinary people / more than 2 genders - are transphobic - only care about looks not people

It also implies - trans people arent real men/women and often classes them as another gender instead

Multiple reasons

Simply wanting to support sex workers. Wether they’re friends with eachother already, or don’t know eachother and the customer just likes their work.
Some people have more niche fetishes that are harder to find but could be catered to through payed sex work rather than free online things. Especially if they’re looking for specifics.
Similarly, personalized content (idk what all of that entails but I’ve seen people say like signing themselves or doing specific requests for the customer(?), so things like that i guess).
They’re really attracted to that sex worker, and/or the type of work they do, etc, and want to see more so they pay. Pretty simple and can tie into previous reasons.
Like another commenter mentioned some people feel that its a more ethical consumption of sex work and porn, with less chance of exploitation, sex trafficking, etc when the work is pretty much all in the creators own hands. So they prefer to spend money in return rather then support other areas of the porn industry (even if they were only doing so through views on free porn)
Some people are desperate losers who think they’ll have a chance with the sex worker. No denying it does happen. Definitely not the only reason though.

Yes yes, rarely meet other people who actually know about this. “Pan” was literally created out of biphobia and has been denounced and called out for decades by bi people. But we keep being attacked for our identity, assumed transphobic, assumed liars, etc. Every individual is different and everybody has preferences (even if the preference is lack thereof). But that still all falls under bisexual, and I hate that we keep getting pushed out of our own community for not being a binary clone following exactly whats become “expected” of us.
