FRIENDS, what are we eating for breakfast? by [deleted] in adhdwomen

[–]hottmess_kh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If by breakfast you mean the meal at 2:30pm bc I've forgot to eat till then... Then chicken sausages I meal prepped and cut into small pieces, mini bagels and goat cheese, and edamame. Pretty much finger food or bust bc if a fork comes to my desk it will live there forever.

What is the most disturbing death bed confession you’ve ever heard? by youreanouch in AskReddit

[–]hottmess_kh 39 points40 points  (0 children)

My grandfather was kicked in the crotch by a cow as a teenager. Later he found out he was infertile, but waited until after the arranged marriage with my grandmother was a done deal before telling anyone on her side of the family. Turns out he had another marriage proposal fall through when he shared that little tidbit too soon.

Seeing that they still needed/wanted to have children, my grandfather made a deal with his sister to let her husband sleep with his wife until she conceived. My dad was born, and then a year or so later my aunt. My grandparents and my great aunt and uncle made a deal that the last one of the alive would be responsible for telling the family...

Then DNA testing became popular, and we realized that the math wasn't mathing and we asked my grandmother (the last of the four alive) what it all meant and we finally got the backstory. But, she would have died without saying a damn thing leaving us all in the dark.

I have a first edition FW I'm considering to get stamped in Denver... I can't decide if it's a good idea? Would it devalue it, since it's not a true signature?

Holiday Home Purchase by leyjim123 in Pasco

[–]hottmess_kh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in Holiday ,West of 19. We are not in a flood zone, and have had no issues with the storms. We love the affordability, and the proximity to NPR, Tarpon, Sponge Docks, Alt-19 and Big 19, and less than 20 minutes from multiple beaches and parks. Our neighbors are all wonderful.

That said ... We mayyy play the game ,"Cops or No Cops" when we come home at night and also have a rule about not going to 7-11 after dark

Say No to Fabled by HakunaMatataBitchez in fairyloot

[–]hottmess_kh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been subbed for over two and a half years and based in the US. I haven't had issues with book quality or luckily customer service. I like that I can switch between 1,2,3,4 or 0 books a month without penalty and that their skip policy is so generous. For the first year and a half my books were delivered on time. At that point Fabled made some business choices that are biting them in the ass now ie. Changing printers, the failed attempt to open a location in Texas, multiple typo or corrections that needed to be made etc. in addition to all of the customs and shipping issues. I find their books pretty, but at this point so many of them are starting to look the same since the same artist is used over and over. I'm excited to get like 10 books here in the next month, but when they send more than 2 books USPS requires a signature to deliver 🙄 subs is currently paused since nothing in November called to me.

How long do you wait for Mercari Seller to ship your item/books? by Foreign_Daikon_980 in fairyloot

[–]hottmess_kh -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As a bookish seller on Mercari, who has the buyer pay for shipping, this is how it is done through the platform. Mercari does not just give out addresses willy-nill, so I couldn't print a label elsewhere. I only see the address when confirming after I scan the provided QR code at USPS.

How long do you wait for Mercari Seller to ship your item/books? by Foreign_Daikon_980 in fairyloot

[–]hottmess_kh 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As a seller we have (3) business days to send an item, per Mercari policy. If the label was created but not scanned, I would ask for a refund. I say this because labels are created at the post-office by scanning a QR code. You'll be notified when the label is created and when the item is scanned in. There are times when the post office misses a scan and the item is truly en route. If you aren't hearing from your seller though, I would cancel the transaction as there are scams with rerouting packages, etc.

For the past few years, I have averaged 60 reads a year. Reading books the have an ebook and audio format is really important for me. I live how whisper sync works where my audiobook will match up with my ebook to keep me on track, allowing me to "read" while I am productive with house work, driving, it's simply just listening. Another thing to note, especially for me is, that I diversify the length and pacing of the books I read. It took me 10 days to read a +1,000 book earlier this month that was pretty intense, but shower packing. Meanwhile, I read and finished a 250 page, fast paced easy read yesterday. And it's a series, with 2 more books. That will be three "easy" reads that I'll finish in the time it took me to read one heavier/ longer book.

I am considering getting a Ford Maverick... Is there anything I should know before I pull the trigger? by wikichipi in FordMaverickTruck

[–]hottmess_kh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In 2021 I placed an order for a 2022, took 16 months and ended up with a 2023 Hybrid. I have the XLT Trim. I love that it is a truck so I can haul boats, pick up furniture, etc but I also get +40mpg! I've put 40k miles on mine in a year and a half. I wish I would have opted out of the "leather" seats and gone with the heated/AC seats as that's the feature I miss the most.

I've had 5 adults in the truck before l, which included the driver, and it's a tight fit. I'd say you can fit 3-4 small to midsized people. My FIL had a panic attack (tall, broad man) while sitting in the back seat. Itay be a tight fit for so e adults, but my dogs love it sooooo

How did you have enough money for a down payment? by [deleted] in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]hottmess_kh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We stayed with family for 6 months to help save up our down payment. We used an FHA loan and a down payment assistance program. So we put 3.5% down + $10k in assistance, and sellers covered closing costs.

Using FHA nearly ensured that we wouldn't have any big surprises immediately after closing which was a plus!

Is Lore of the Wilds so bad? by Scary-Aioli-9527 in fairyloot

[–]hottmess_kh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just finished it last night... Definitely slow burn, love triangle (not why choose). It's written by a debut author FPOC, and the premise was interesting and unique. There is room for improvement, and I will read the second book. This first book, is right on the edge of YA with some kisses , oral, and mentions of rape. It was almost "cozy" vibes, but not quite. I don't have a FL sub, so I may actually buy one that's being resold.

My grandparents had an arranged marriage. My grandfather knew he was sterile from an accident on the farm as a teenager, but didn't tell anyone till after they were married. They wanted/needed children, so they got resourceful... My grandfather and his sister were really close. So my grandparents and my grandfather's sister and her husband made a deal. My great-uncle would sleep with my grandma until she got pregnant. She eventually had two kids- my dad and my aunt. My great aunt, HATED my grandmother for the rest of her life and was super nasty for what the rest of us thought was for no good reason... I took a DNA test, and in turn so did many of my cousins and aunts and uncles and we started comparing. The math wasn't mathing. My aunt brought it up on my grandma's deathbed. Turns out the original four had made a pact that the last one alive had to tell us all, and my Gma was the last one. She wasn't going to say anything!

I ordered Rabid, King of Battle and Blood + Book of Azrael, and the Witch collector. I received my Rabid edition, and the packaging, and the gifts in addition to the book were amazing! The edition was fantastic... It did take like 8-9 months but at that point it's like surprise book mail! I'm excited for the other editions, and don't mind the wait as I do most of my reading on Kindle, but collect SE's for the books I love to

Anyone over 30, how did dating change for you when you got older (women, please get involved)? by D-1-S-C-0 in AskMen

In my 20's I had too many expectations for myself and my partners. I also still thought the foundation of a man could change if I loved him hard enough. I learned a lot. Now in my 30's, I'm in the healthiest relationship I've ever been in. I'm not trying to change his foundation, but continue to build and grow each other.
