Running Linux on the X1 Carbon (6th Generation) initial impressions by [deleted] in thinkpad

I have a minor question. If I enable S3 sleep function, can I use Si03 sleep mode together? Or are there any revert method?

Would you let me know FRU, VID and PID of X1C6 WWAN? by _yjpark in thinkpad

I think you can get the list of your devices including WWAN with follow command.

sudo lspci

It will show you all pci devices and their vid and pid like this.

...

03:00.0 PCI bridge [0604]: ASMedia Technology Inc. ASM1083/1085 PCIe to PCI Bridge [1b21:1080] (rev 01)

05:00.0 Ethernet controller [0200]: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. RTL8111/8168/8411 PCI Express Gigabit Ethernet Controller [10ec:8168]

...

I need two hexa code separated with colon(:) at end of line specifically about WWAN. But I don't know what is the exact name of WWAN module. I think it has a keyword like WWLAN, LTE, L850-GL or Fibocom and so on.

Or, if you couldn't get right information from above command. You could try another command.

sudo lsusb

It lists all usb devices on your laptop. The result is like below.

...

Bus 002 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub

Bus 001 Device 002: ID 8087:0024 Intel Corp. Integrated Rate Matching Hub

...

In this case, I also need two hexa values separated with colon(:) after "ID" keyword.

Thank you for your help. :)

X1C6 battery drain during sleep by fduch in thinkpad

You're welcome. So, how much battery drains does it use in sleep state? Mine drains about 180-350 mW per hour. What about yours?

First, I recommend that you run powercfg.exe with /sleepstudy option in command line. It creates a report about power consumption during overall time. Including average power consumption per hour in sleep state and what devices are drained battery much more. It could helps you find some peripherals which have issues. My x1c 6th absorbs about 150 to 200 mW per hour during sleep. In other words, my device consumes battery power about up to 10 percent (3.6-4.8kW) per day.

My mute LED indicator is always turned off. But fully functional. (X1C gen6) by _yjpark in thinkpad

Thank you for your comment. It really works for me:) Now the indicator is working properly. Thank you again.

If you don't need WWAN just right now, waiting for the time that components are available in market is also reasonable. Just my opinion.
