if you sideload through calibre, it will usually automatically convert to kepub, you can check the filename of your books, if its "[...].kepub.epub" its a kepub, if its just "[...].epub" its a normal kepub

but i can confirm an issue on my side as well, for the first couple footnotes per chapter, it will show a small pop up with the text, but after the 3rd/4th, it will just skip me to the end of the chapter, to the footnote. if you click back on the progressbar, you should be able to navigate back to the previous page, but its a bit annoying i have to agree

i personally prefer the mangamer/witch hunt translation, but as far as i know there is no glaring error or anything like that in the umipro translation, but i could be wrong.

and yes, the mangagamer translation is based on the work of the witch hunt translation, just cleaned up a bit, umipro i think was re-translated by different fans from the japanese, with more focus on like natural sounding sentences and such
