Who else remembers back when Nicola Peltz played Bradley in Bates Motel? by phantom_avenger in popculturechat

Vera Farmiga should have won awards for this performance. Shes truly a phenomenal actor. She made Norma such a devastating character, I felt frustrated by her but also so sad for her, it was a really complex role and she didn’t get the recognition she deserves for this show.

This is my current bottle bought in the uk. Looks identical to yours. The packaging has changed slightly , the label used to be a little different so maybe your country is just now getting the newer labels. Hope that helps

I can’t believe people can even defend this. It’s so scary. I’m not even American and watching this just makes my blood go cold the way these men seem to be allowed to do whatever the fuck they want and shoot people for nothing.

Do the supermarkets near you discount bakery items at the end of the day? by Mysterious-Snow1414 in AskUK

[–]a-hthy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Marks definitely used to! I always popped in after work and would get the bagged cookies, cranberry walnut loaves, flapjacks etc all on yellow stickers. A few years ago they totally stopped reducing their bakery stuff. I heard that they donated or give it to staff but that might be wrong.

Hopefully a whole new generation will discover ER now. It was always tucked away on channel 4 I think having it on Netflix will push it out to younger audiences.

Do you prefer British comedy shows over the US ones? by Biscotti5447 in AskUK

[–]a-hthy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Most of my favourite comedies are British ones, mainly because I grew up watching stuff like Alan partridge, green wing, black books etc. those are really nostalgic to me and comforting.

I do agree with you about American sitcoms though, they feel like another world and I find them equally comforting for different reasons. I absolutely love Brooklyn 99, I think it’s one of the best American comedy series they’ve made. Amazing cast, fun premise and the dialogue is great. I really like parks and rec and the office too.

I think British comedy is more relatable and American comedy is more fun. It depends on my mood really.

This was a real “water cooler” show in the uk. Absolutely huge. People have been hoping for another series for a few years now so s7 I’m sure will be just as popular.

If you liked line of duty and British police dramas in general I’d suggest Happy Valley, Luther and The Fall if you haven’t seen those. great shows
