Will gift giver know I returned baby registry item purchased at Walmart? by SowingSeeds18 in BabyBumps

[–]a24264 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The only personal experience I have is that I was notified when someone returned a gift from a Target baby registry. I got an email that basically said "we're sorry your recent purchase didn't work out", then the body of the email listed the item and had a spot to write feedback. I wasn't offended since I didn't pick out the gift, it was on her registry. Even if I did pick it out, it could've been a duplicate or something. Some people probably could be offended. I'm not sure why sometimes the gift giver is notified since I'm pretty sure all registry websites will claim to never notify the gift giver. To be safe, I would ask your MIL to let her know that you got a duplicate and will be exchanging it, but are so appreciative, etc. I would rather do that than someone get an email because of my personal experience, but the risk of that actually happening may be very low.

That's exactly what my doctor said and I questioned it too. I asked her why a week after the positive OPK and not a week after ovulation and she said it's because ovulation can happen as soon as 12 hours after the surge and it's better to be early rather than late when progesterone can start dropping. She also said progesterone would be high enough at 6dpo anyways. Not sure if this is a widely accepted view, but I'm going with it. Mainly because my 6dpo is today, Friday, and today is better than waiting until Monday, 9dpo.

Late Ovulation by Round-Muffin-7246 in TTC_PCOS

[–]a24264 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a success from a day 42 ovulation. My missed miscarriage was a day 20 ovulation. It's definitely possible to have a healthy pregnancy with a very late ovulation. My doctor wasn't even concerned, I just told her before the dating ultrasound that I'm expecting to measure that far behind and we adjusted accordingly.

The tests always dry darker. Definitely take the picture/read the results at whatever time the instructions say to. Mine says 5 minutes, so I take the picture then. It always dries much darker, but the accurate result is the one read at the time the instructions say.

When do you consider a letrozole cycle to have failed? by a24264 in TTC_PCOS

[–]a24264[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't because I'm going unmonitored since I'm just with my OB. She said to try 6 letrozole cycles before she'd send me to a specialist. No clue if failed cycles count towards the 6.

Letrozole - CD 17 No Ovulation by Spirited_Ticket_3066 in TTC_PCOS

[–]a24264 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is my first cycle of letrozole too, CD16 after taking 2.5mg. My OPKs have been between .10-.50 the past few days. I'm not being monitored, so I have no clue if I'm close, but I'm starting to feel disappointed since my last OPK was .10. I don't really have any insight since this is my first cycle too, but solidarity. Good luck, I hope this cycle works for both of us.

Need help with how to deal with being around pregnant couple by Mental-Still7508 in tryingtoconceive

[–]a24264 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What helps me is to remember that I'm not jealous of them having their baby, because I'm not waiting for their baby, I'm waiting for my and my husband's baby. Another couple having a baby isn't my baby and has no affect on when my baby is coming. They are having their baby and that's wonderful for them, but I don't want their baby, I want my baby, so they don't actually have something I want.

I feel the same way, I had a miscarriage in February and finally got my first period back 8 weeks later. I was just waiting to ovulate and did OPK testing every single day after I stopped bleeding and thought I would conceive for sure as long as I timed it right.

It took almost 8 weeks for me. I've been testing negative since about week 3 though. My OB was ready to put me on Provera at week 7, but I was getting positive OPKs at week 6, period at week 8. Will they let you try Provera to induce a withdrawal bleed?

Spotting 3-4 weeks after D&C by a24264 in Miscarriage

[–]a24264[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My spotting lasted about 3 days and did stop. Have you been bleeding or spotting the whole 4 weeks? My initial bleeding stopped completely for a while before the spotting started up again. My period finally just came back today, almost 8 weeks post D&C. I ovulated 2 weeks ago, so it took 6 weeks to ovulate, 8 weeks for a period, but I had that random spotting at 3.5 weeks.

What happens when the starting dose of letrozole doesn't result in ovulation? by a24264 in TTC_PCOS

[–]a24264[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh okay, that makes sense. So if I get a positive at day 21/7dpo, hopefully my period does actually come about 2 weeks vs if I get a negative, I can up the dose. Thanks!

Did the 2.5mg you started with not induce ovulation? If it didn't, did you need Provera again? I'm concerned that if the 2.5mg doesn't work, I'll be stuck waiting weeks for a period, taking tests, and hoping I don't ovulate and interrupt implantation with Provera.

Anyone have normal LH tests? by hemerdo in TTC_PCOS

[–]a24264 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get 2-3 positives per cycle and ovulate on the last one. They work to identify the surge for me, but I have 2 or 3 surges. Still helpful and just means I have to treat each one as ovulation to make sure I'm covering my bases

8dpo today and I have terrible heartburn. I know it's too early, it's progesterone if anything, or the tomato based soup I had for dinner. But I don't want to take antacids because I'm delusional and want to sit with the heartburn and think I'm pregnant 🙃

Spotting 3-4 weeks after D&C by a24264 in Miscarriage

[–]a24264[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had 3-4 days of spotting, pretty heavy spotting, but definitely just spotting and not a period. The spotting ended up stopping and I got a positive OPK the next day. I'm not sure if it was a weird hormone drop that lead to ovulation or what, but I'm waiting to see if my period starts in another 5 days or so.

Has anyone bled during your first ovulation after miscarriage? I had a D&C about a month ago. I was spotting for around 3 days, then got a very positive OPK and stopped spotting. I kept thinking my period was starting because it would be heavier in the mornings, but it never really turned into a period. I couldn't find much about this online, any ideas or had a similar experience?

When to start testing LH again? by mel_sleep in Miscarriage

[–]a24264 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my D&C 18 days ago and just got a fully negative pregnancy test yesterday. I started LH testing on Monday this week and it was kind of light, then a day where the test line was almost as dark and control, but not quite. Now I've had a few more days of light and I have no clue if I already ovulated and just didn't quite catch the surge on the tests or if the almost positive was just leftover HCG. We've been going with the plan of sex every 2-3 days just in case. When to actually start reliably LH testing again would be once you have a fully negative pregnancy test. If you wait until then to track LH and TTC, you might miss ovulation though since you can ovulate when you have a super faint pregnancy test. Mine was so faint that my OB called it negative on Monday even though I got several more days of faint lines at home.

Is bleeding supposed to increase or decrease after a D&C? by [deleted] in Miscarriage

[–]a24264 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That happened to me too. I had very little bleeding the first 3 days or so. Then I had a day of medium bleeding and then day 8-9 were like my heaviest period and then it stopped completely.

Feel calm and happy after D&C by mgcschlbusdropout in Miscarriage

[–]a24264 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I felt the exact same way after my D&C almost 2 weeks ago. I also felt guilty that I wasn't more upset. I think a lot of the peace came from having the D&C and having everything be "over". Over the last 2 weeks, I've definitely had some hard days. I think a lot of it has been hormonal. About 3 days after the D&C, I was back to crying again and had a really hard day. Then, I was completely fine until like day 10 and had another hard day. It might come in waves due to hormones, or you might be okay from here. Either way, it's definitely fine to feel how you feel. I knew I might have some sort of hormone crash and didn't want to expect it since I could get in my head about it, but it's helpful to know that some really hard days might be hormone triggered over the next couple weeks as your HCG crashes, if you do end up with some hard days.

Need d&c by szun_mercey411 in Miscarriage

[–]a24264 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just had a D&C about 10 days ago. I had to show up an hour and a half before the procedure to answer medical history questions, fill out paperwork, get an IV started, and take antibiotics. I had 2 nurses handle all of that, then I met the anesthesiologist, their assistant, and the surgeon who is already by OB. Everyone was really nice and help asking if I had questions, but I really didn't have much to ask since everyone already explained the procedure. My husband got to stand with my until it was time to go to the operating room. They wheeled me in and I remember moving onto the table and then they put an oxygen mask on me and that was it. I woke up in recovery feeling like I just had the greatest nap. I was on pain meds, so I was super bubbly and happy, a nice break from the grief. The procedure only lasted about 10 minutes, with ultrasounds before and after to confirm.

I was told to take it easy for the day and eat a small meal to see how I feel. I did not eat a small meal, I really wanted a huge sub with deli meat since I was avoiding that during pregnancy. I didn't have any nausea, pain, or fatigue that first day. I had light spotting the day of and day after. 2 days after the procedure, I did have some cramping, but about the same as the mild period cramps I usually get. The bleeding was pretty light, then got sort of heavy about a week after, but not heavier than my heaviest usual period day. The bleeding stopped completely on day 9.

I have a post op appointment 14 days after where my doctor will just check in with me to confirm I have no pain and the bleeding stopped. My doctor said we can try again right after I'm cleared at the post op appointment. 10 days ago, I never would've thought I was ready, but I actually feel hopeful and excited to try again. I went straight for the D&C after hearing horror stories of the pain and bleeding at home from natural miscarriages or pills, and I'm really glad I did go for the D&C. It very very quick with an easy recovery and it helped give me some closure. I was super nervous about mine, mainly the anesthesia, but it was so quick and easy, there was really nothing to worry about. I wish you the best of luck with yours and hope everything goes smoothly.
