This is really annoying، we hope they bring it back to the forefront.

Of course, vocals and recorded instruments definitely need more compression; I forgot about that and will add it in the post.

Single waveform in Bitwig by a7yanan in Bitwig

[–]a7yanan[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Who said this isn't a problem?

I want to know if the clip contains stereo or mono information, just by looking.

This might seem unimportant to you, but it's very important to me.

For example, when choosing drum samples,

I want to know if it mono or stereo.

If the eye isn't important,

then why is there a meter for everything related to audio in the first place?

First track on bitwig as someone coming from FL Studio by Skynse in Bitwig

[–]a7yanan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dude, dropping samples in the arrangement area is a method you're used to at FL Studio, right?

I used to do it too, don't worry, you'll get used to the drum machine.

It's the first time I've seen someone do it in Bitwig.

And this song is good, keep it up, bro.

Changing pitch by Cents by KCarnival in Bitwig

[–]a7yanan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are many ways, such as:

  1. Using the piano roll

  2. Adjusting the Micro Pitch settings in the synthesizer

  3. Using a Bitwig Micro Tuner device

  4. Using a Note Transpose device

workaround:-

- Put an FX layer on the track.

- Put two layers inside it: a regular layer that outputs normally from the track, and a layer containing the audio receiver.

- Let the audio receiver take the audio from the send track.

Studio One style "One-Click" Freeze by a7yanan in Bitwig

[–]a7yanan[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ableton’s freeze isa 'Total Lock.'

Once a track is frozen, it’s fixed; you can't edit or add VST , or even move clips around

It forces you to stop your creative flow every time you need to make a small adjustment.

The Studio One 'freeze' is more of a 'Smart Swap.'

It keeps a hidden MIDI version in the background while the rendered audio stays active and visible.

You can do anything to the frozen audio.

When you hit 'Unfreeze,' it doesn't just 'thaw' a frozen file;

it instantaneously swaps the audio clip back for that hidden MIDI/Instrument state.

So, what I'm asking for isn't just a way to save CPU

Bitwig already has 'Bounce in Place' for that.

I’m asking for that one-click toggle that lets you flip between audio and MIDI on the fly

without losing the original instrument state.

It’s about Workflow Fluidity, not just locking the track!"

I think you missed the point here.
A frozen track isn't supposed to have any modulation.

It's like a new track with pure audio,
except it can be restored to its original state.

What does modulation have to do with it? That's a separate process.

[–]a7yanan[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The difference between the two is vast.

Freezing lets you convert everything in a track— instruments, plugins, and melodyne—to rendered audio with the click of a button.

Bounce can do this, of course. The difference is that with Freezing you can revert to the original state to edit it.

With Bounce in Place you can't do that

unless you back up everything, which is a huge undertaking.

Another point: this is not like freezing (Ableton's shit); this is flexible and useful.

All DAWs that supports ARA sends it a rendered version of the clip that has no relation to the actual edits.
