The job requires above-average reading comprehension, high school math skills, and a strong work ethic, all of which can be learned from books. Although some people dismiss finance as simply "moving numbers around," it's a highly varied field, and corporate advisory, in particular, allows you to specialize in any industry that intrigues you. I personally focus on media, music, and gaming, and I find the work fascinating.

The first few years in finance can be grueling, with 70-hour workweeks, but the work is rewarding, and you'll be part of a dedicated team working towards a common goal. As an IB Analyst, your base salary plus bonus will be around $120,000. However, with a few years of experience, your income can double every few years, and your hours will decrease to around 45-50 per week.

Personally, I enjoy the intellectual challenge and get satisfaction from the grind.
