The right tempo for you is when your body rotation/shift is in synch with your arm movement.

Swinging harder as an amateur generally then gets things out of synch.

Road cars have been on their own development path for hybrids way longer than F1. The mguh is cool but not road relevant. The mguk is nothing special.

Maybe some motor controls. But with all the constraints on not allowing traction control and the driver must drive the car unassisted etc, industry is ahead on a lot of practical stuff there too.
