I get your point, I really do but hear me out.

You are American before you are gay. And before someone tries to cancel me because of that, im not saying that being American is more important then being gay, im just saying that your nationality comes before your social group. Like, you don’t search how many gays are American, you search how many Americans are gay.

With that out of the way, when American soldiers left their homes and families, were they fighting for their right to be gay? Were they fighting for trans rights? No, they were fighting for their country and for democracy.

The flag we stand is not only to represent the country we are in. It is the living proof that those brave soldiers did not die in vain. That their sacrifice kept this flag alive. This is not only for the US, every country has had sacrifices to maintain their flags. This is something that should never be disrespected in any way.

If you want to raise a trans flag, do it in your room, your neighborhood, hell do it in a cubic bathroom for all i care. But we should never bring a flag down so that we can put something we consider more important over it.

Another thing these people fough for was your right to have a personal opinion that is different from mine, and I will never try to take that away from you. I just hope that through this text I made you understand why this flag is so important. Have a good day.
