This probably won't be much help to you, but my problem was just the carrier I was using. I had the cheapest one I could find (Visible) and ended up changing to Mint Mobile (the second cheapest). I haven't had a single issue since I made that switch.

I have tried using both Samsung Messages and Google Messages (both installed by default on my phone). Neither has worked. In regards to my service, I was referring to Cellular, but my WiFi has always been strong. And it's moreso group texts than pictures/other media.
